Aston Aficionado, have you driven the new XKR? I agree in looks it is a bit similar thanks to Ian but not even close may be a stretch IMO. I have driven a friends XKR numerous times and it is bad to the bone. It still made me feel special driving it (although the Aston is more special) and the Aston is more rare.

I know tastes differ and I chose the V8V, but I can appreciate the looks and interior of the Jag. The performance of the "R" makes me want a little more in my Vantage....

Sorry, didn't mean to disparage the XK. I'm sure it's a great car. My point is that it's still a Jaguar. IMHO, it doesn't have near the cachet or style of an Aston. But that's just my view. No offense intended.

I agree, still a jag! I was just shocked after driving the new XKR, not a bad car at all!

I have driven the XK numerous of times, my sister owns one, is there that vast of difference between the XK and the XKR when it comes to performance driving? because the XK felt like a cat and not a Jaguar if you know what I mean..

Yep, I am referring to the 2010 XKR which has the same HP as your DBS in the V8! (supercharged)

It gets up quick (feels as fast as my Vantage), but does not handle nearly as well and really feels its size when driven hard through turns.

All in all for the price and good performance GT coupe IMO.

If your sisters XK was between 2006-2008 it had only 300HP, if its 09 or newer 385. Both of these are substantially lower than the 510 and would feel cat like in such a big car!

@DetomasoGTS74: That makes perfect sense, hers was the first model that came out with the new look, so I'm guessing it's 2006..

thanks for the info..
