Classic Car **** - DB4

Hey all,

I visited Atlanta's High Museum this weekend to see their "Allure of the Automobile" exhibit. They had lots of amazing cars on display, including this 1961 DB4 GT Zagato, one of under 100 made. As near as I could tell, this car was one of the crowd favorites. Notable others included Steve McQueen's 1957 Jaguar XKSS Roadster, a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Comp., a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, a 1953 Porsche 550 Le Mons, and the 1959 Corvette Stingray Prototype. I can post pics of those if anyone wants to see them . . .

Gorgeous!!! I saw a number of these in Europe during my days at Classic & Sportscar, and Motorsport magazines. DB4 Zagato has got to be top 10 most beautiful cars of all time. I also managed to get a close up look at DP212 a few times and see it racing several.

I'd love to see your pictures of Steve McQueen's XKSS. Those cars are stunning.

I recall reading that McQueen used his XKSS as a daily driver for almost a year - crazy!
His only attempt to domesticate it was to have VonDutch custom fabricate a glove box so its registration papers wouldn't fly out when at speed.
- He was the man.

Yeah, the XKSS was my favorite of the show. One of only 16 ever produced! I love the old Jags. Considered buying a Series 1 E-type, but just couldn't fit in it.

I'm out of town and don't have the pics with me, but I can post them on Friday when I get back.
