Buying a car this way?
Hi everyone,
I noticed a 2007 AMV at cars.com for $ 45,500 and the VIN is SCFBB03B57GC06100 with only 5k miles. (car is not there anymore for some reason)
When I emailed the guy he responded to have me sign up for Google Checkout services and wants to go through them. This program supposedly allows a buyer to test drive and inspect the car before paying. Buyer will have a 7-day inspection period to decide whether they want to keep the car or not before they release the funds to seller.
If buyer is interested and have cash they send seller their Google Checkout email (www.GoogleCheckout.com) and seller will ask them to fill in the transaction details. After Google Checkout confirms the transaction seller personally come and hands buyer the keys. As soon as Google Checkout confirms the transaction seller will deliver the car to your location on their cost and buyer will have 7 days of inspection. If buyer decides to keep it they will release the funds in seller's account after the 7 days of inspection. Those were the instruction from the buyer in the email. Sounds fraudulent if you ask me. Thoughts anyone?
Thanks!

It's the scam that keeping going around. They do the same thing saying you have buy through ebay motors. Then as you go through the process, you'll get many very official looking emails from ebay (google in your case) with all the graphics etc. As you follow their process to the end, all you have to do is wire the money to some back account in a foreign land. Of course then no car will be showing up at your doorstep. They're offering the car for such a low price so that hopefully they'll get lots of interest from buyers prior to the ad being shut down. That's why you don't see the ad any longer. They got reported.
PS. the wording is exactly the same wording I got trying to buy an M3 from cars.com a couple months ago. Likewise, the car was too good to be true for the price.
