Mulitiple Owners

Would anyone here shy away from a vantage with multiple previous owners? I would prefer a one owner car but the vantage I'm considering has at least 3 prior owners. Also, has anyone had any experience with Scottsdale Motorsports?

Thanks Much

Haven't had any experience in that department, but it sounds like a bad idea in general. There has to be something wrong with it if it's being sold for the 4th time. Is the Carfax report clean? Have you verified that the three owners are people and not a dealer taking title?

Maybe some forum members could help me with this one. I'll try inserting a link which includes the carfax.

Looking at the Carfax, it says that the dealer took title of this vehicle
while it was in inventory on 03/11/2008 and was registered as the 1st owner. Same thing happened as the 2nd owner. It looks like the 3rd owner is when someone actually purchased it. But he's only had it for 7 months. I would get clarification from the owner and ask why he's selling it after less than a year.

Could you please elaborate what it means when it says "Dealer took title of this vehicle while in inventory". I don't follow carfaxes very well.

could also be the scenario of someone getting the car and not being able to afford it. i had looked a one that was similar before i bought mine. each ownership was only for a few months and the carfax was clean along with the maintenance history which led me to believe people were living outside their ability on that particular car.

Its tough to know why a car went through 3 owners in 3 years. Maybe they couldn't afford them or maybe there was a problem. Having the car really checked out by someone that knows what they are doing can insure that the car is in good shape.

A couple of things I noticed on that carfax report:
- The car did 2000+ miles while owned by a dealership (most likely the Aston dealership in Palmyra NJ). At which point it was sold to another dealership (Cherry Hill Imports) in Cherry Hill NJ. Whey they did that I don't know.
- I have no idea what that inspection is at 5000 miles. There is no such inspection required for cars in New Jersey. Inspections aren't required for cars until they are at least 4 years old.

Excellent, thanks for feedback. Please keep the replies coming as I really like this car.

Hey Mustang guy, how do you like what I did with my GT?

It doesn't necessarily mean there is something wrong with the car (to be selling after 7 months) I sold 2 Porsches last year (C2s and a Turbo) and owned each for 6-7 months and there was nothing at all wrong with either car, just not my cup of tea. Do your due diligence, have it checked out (PPI) and if all points to good....I see no reason to let 3 prev. owners be deal breaker.

If I did decided to move forward, is there anyone on this forum who lives in the Scottsdale area who would would willing to stop by and take a peek or maybe a test drive? Beyond that, can anyone recommend a qualified inspection location in that area?

Greatly appreciated

The longest I've ever kept a car is 18 months, so it's common for cars like these to be sold often. I wouldn't worry about multiple owners.

Agreed, I think it is pretty common for high end cars to be held for short periods. I have purchased cars and sold them within a few months if it wasn't for me. As stated above, get a PPI and decide from there.

I would be happy to test drive that car for you. I was in that dealership a couple of weeks ago to test drive the v12 vantage. I'm planning on buying an 09 this spring and needed an excuse to go drive a v8 vantage. Pm me your phone number.
