db7 Convertible operation

In case you've not found it - you must have the parking break on to drop the top.

Really? How annoying is that? On my BMW 135i Daily Driver, you can do it on the fly at up to 25 mph.....I hate that parking brake system on the Astons anyways, now its even more annoying if you have to do that!

My most VERY favorite things about Aston Convertibles though is the warning that comes in the owner's manual to make sure to put the top down if you go to the track. If you curb-up during a session and the rollbar hoops deploy if the rollover sensors think the car is about to flip, they explode the back window and shred the top. I just love that ... <laughing>

I mentioned that to several students at the last track day. They all looked at me like I was daft and not a one of them put the top down. Go figure. (yeah, it was a little chilly out)

You need to find a manual, it's critical. There's a valve on the motor located in the trunk that if turned allows you to manually move the top.

Where do all these manuals, keys and remotes go, anyway?

This is a really good question. I can understand someone just not remembering to include that unsued spare key when they sell their Yaris, but are people really as casual about the bits that come with their Aston?

That said, I've got a nice condition '09 MY Vantage Owner's Manual for gift/sale...Just sayin'
