Question about brake pad sensors(or lack of) and warning lights
Hello fellow members,
Just picked up my V8V as a weekend car and im loving every second of it. So far i have installed a custom exhaust with 3" piping with straight exit design, added ceramic tint, sirius radio and have a set of 20" DPE R16's w/ 245 fronts and 305 rears on order. Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions about these mods.
Anyways, onto my issue. Yesterday i brought the car into my local shop to have a set of H&R lowering springs and Ebc rear brake pads installed. I didnt source the brake sensors. When i picked up the car, the dash was lighting up like a christmas tree: ABS warning, Electronic Brake assist, and ebrake all lit up. I asked my mechanic what the problem was, but he was unsure since he doesnt have the right OBD software to diagnose the issue.
Im not sure if my mechanic closed the loop on the brake sensor wires but do you guys think these warning lights are attributed to the lack of sensors?
Whatelse could be the issue? Perhaps the installation of the lowering springs upset the brake sensors?
Is there an OBD tool i can buy online to diagnose brake light warnings?
Thanks in advance.

I just went to check and did not find a yellow button. Its definitely not located in a conspicuous place. I did however, see a hole located behind the seat but there was no yellow button.

If it is a RHD version is behind the driver's seat. There is a small hole in the panel behind the seat. You put your finger in and supports for a few seconds.

Did the reset work? How are the EBC brakes? Is there a brake sensor you have to replace? Much noise? Where did you buy the pads? Thank you much.
I need to replace my front pads.

The car just reset itself. I couldnt locate a yellow button. I noticed a hole behind the passenger seat but no button.
I wouldnt recommend using EBC unless youre using them for the track. Great bite but the brake squeal was horrendous. My mechanic recommended Mintex so thats what im using for the rears now. Pagid fronts. G'luck.

I'm also curious, do your comments apply to all models of the EBC pads?
Does anyone know which brand the OEM's are?? Got a quote from my dealer and almost dropped dead at the price they wanted. Thanks

I can tell you that I took off the OEM pads from my car last week (they are way too dusty) and they have the Brembo logo on the backing plate.

Reds. Yellow apparently are even worse. Im beginning to think theres a design flaw with the brakes because the Ebc reds didnt squeal on my s5.

This is my 2nd week with the reds with no squeaks or any noise. A bit more dusty than I like but it could just be the breakin period.
