4.3 versus 4.7, drive train issues . . .

Hi,

Hope this not verboten, this post ... read with great interest this thread.

Have yet to post to this forum/site. Anyhow, I'm looking at AM Vantage V-8, as well as Jaguar XKR.

Noted XKR is faster, feel it is a better cruiser, the AM Vantage the better canyon carver. Will be using the car more in highway use. Do you find the AM Vantage V-8 a decent cruiser, when it is used in this fashion?
Like that the AM Vantage V-8 is a NA motor, versus SC motor.

In that the XK only makes 300 HP, tells the obvious, the AM V-8 380 HP engine is a much better engineered piece, than the XK/XKR engine.

BMW, Jaguar, and others are now, and have been, going the turbo, or super-charging route. In order to gain horsepower/torque increases. In lieu of more properly engineered engines. Opining here . . . Do recognize that auto manufacturers are aiming their efforts to meet ever stringent government MPG requirements.

Now, you guys talked about the 4.3 versus the 4.7. I sense the 4.7 solves most all the issues raised in this thread. Is this true?

Also, would be interested in all the more important areas the 4.7 solves vis-a-vis the 4.3. I did some look ups regarding the former. And got some peculiar, as well as decent information.

So, what else was done, from your view point drive train wise? What else happened along with the changes from 4.3 to the 4.7 version? Will really value your input here . . .

Hope I didn't high jack your thread. Just trying to get more information to help in my quest.
