External Temp Sensor

My 2009 Vantage's external temp sensor seem to be overly sensative to sunlight in a way other cars have not. I would not really care but the external temp effects the A/C system.

Example, it was in the mid 80s yesterday and while driving the display was accurate. I parked the car (in the sun) and when I get in it a few hours later (do not think engine heat is the issue) and the display shows 106! So when I start driving the a/c is blasting. Within a minute or so of driving the display temp starts falling and in 4-5 minutes the display is in the mid 80s and the ac is acting normal. My work around is to turn the A/C off for the first couple of min until the display temp falls and then turn teh A/C on.

Is this how everyones car behaves or is my sensor faulty? My car is still under warrantee and before I have it looked at during my next service I want to know when the dealer says "they all do that" if that is the truth.

My car will read 120 when we are at 100 or 102, then when I drive for a few minutes the temp goes to where it should be.

Almost every car I have owned behave the same way.

Yes and yes. My sensor reads around 120 degrees all the time. It's become the basis of a recurring joke between me and my girlfriend. Although it is common for cars to misjudge outside temps, the Aston is really bad with it. There was a service bulletin a while back (attached), but my 2011 still has this problem.

Its not sunlight, its the heat from the engine.
