Hi, im having issues with timing cover leak. I am having a local porsche mechanic fix the problem. Can you give me any details on the fix. Labor hours etc. Also, does the engine need removed to fix this or can it be done with engine in tacked? Any details would be much appreciated.

Engine stays in the car, front subframe is dropped out to remove the timing cover due to clearance required

I kept getting a drip a night kind of leak too and got scared. Dealer said oil filter leak and all was good. Replaced oil filter and topped off oil for $50 lol. No more leaks.

Motorwerks Houston is also a very good exotica independent. They sell & maintain all array of exotics and they are heck of a lot cheaper than the dealer. They are also negotiable at times too depending on the job.

How many labor hours should it take to get this job done? My car has been gone for a month at the mechanic as of now

Interesting, clicking on links to request service or schedule a consultation result in a "This form has been deactivated and is closed for any further submissions" message. Clicking on their on-line inventory gets me to an Under Construction page.

Are they still open?

Well I don't like giving exact times, don't want to bash the other garage for I don't know what concerns they may have run into..but generally if all goes well..Timing cover re-seal will be back in the clients hand after the second day of repair..

..is this a indie shop or dealer that has ur car?

Its an indie shop, works on a lot of porsches and audis… as well as a lot of older exotics. He's taking his time to get it done right, sub frame is still on but he's working on getting it off currently.

If the car has been there for almost a month now, I hope ur not paying for a month worth of labor for something a certified Aston tech would generally be done in 2 days, and that's including the alignment..sometimes indie shops are great cause the labor is less but sometimes the downside is they can take double or even triple the time to complete the repair..which in the end costs the client more obviously..Hope all goes good
