An evo is not a bad option...

The Z06 at Mosport is almost impossible to beat for the price.
Watch out for power oversteer. With the suspension package it is incredibly fast.
Take a good instructor and learn.

The Lotus insn't even close but that's what I would go for. Alway's a lot more rewarding to drive a less powerful car with momentum and finesse and pass the V8 cars.

The Z06 is a lot of car to handle when you're just starting off. I think cars like that hinder driver advancement compared to cars you have to push the crap out of to get good times (and aren't afraid of pushing the crap out of). It's always funny to see GT3, GT2, Z06s getting passed by much lesser cars, such as a Mazdaspeed3 that I saw at the last track day. The guy in the GT3RS would probably get a lot better faster if you stick him in a MX-5.
