ECU Tuning Group - Aston Martin DB9 Tune

Programmed this unique Aston Martin DB9 a while back at California Wheels in the Bay Area for one of the players of the San Francisco 49rs. Seems like the professional athlete was trying to go for his team's color scheme. By the way, gains from reprogramming the ECU are 45hp & 60lbs tq.

For all inquiries, please contact the sales department at 877.813.9700 ext 2.

that is an insane gain from just a chip. Hopefully you can get a dyno up.

Wow that db9 looks ummm well interesting... I'd like to see dyno before and after and are the gains with no other mods or are supporting mods there as well? Are the results from a mustang or dyno dynamics load bearing eddy current tuning dyno or from a dynojet!??? I have an extensive racing and prior modded car background, and professional background in engineering so I would like to see some more data and understand the constraints, test factors, and additional supporting changes of any done under testing... Thanks

Yeah, a bit hard to believe, especially the 60 ft-lbs (14% increase!).

Wow. I wish we could get 45BHP and 60ft/lbs from a DB9 tune. That is astonishing.

I think the numbers are high, especially with just a tune on the 6L v12 as it sits in the DB9, from stock, no other mods whatsoever. There is only so much that can be pulled out of a N/A car with things like AFR, timing curves, ignition & fuel maps etc...we are not talking about a boosted engine in this case. What would make a difference on an NA engine are things like cylinder head reworking, intake reworking, TB port matched and extruded, reduction in exhaust restrictiveness etc...etc...and even then the gains will be comensurate with the degree to which the car is modded BEFORE the tuning occurs.

I would like to see some evidence of these gains and information about the parameters of testing, equipment used, factors and contingencies implemented, addtional modifcations to vehicle before and after tuning, and test results (objective data indicating gains before and after testing)

Yep. Aston got a 15% increase in torque on the Vantage only after increasing displacement from 4.3L to 4.7L.

Unfortunately, we do not have one at the moment.

We've been reprogramming these cars for quite some time now. With the exception for the Vanquish and DB9 (on the bench only), all other Aston Martin's can be programmed either diagnostically or on the bench.

Many forum members questioned us when we were able to not only reprogram the Porsche Panamera Turbo, Mercedes CLS63, BMW M5, etc. when they first came out, but also to achieve unheard of gains. ECU only we achieved: 130hp & 95lbs tq from a Panamera Turbo, 88hp 66lbs tq - C63, 32hp 24lbs tq to the wheels - M5, 80-100hp 150lbs tq to the wheels - CLS63 TT. Dyno sheets for the aforementioned vehicles have been posted throughout the forum.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for further questions.

^^^ I don't understand how you can tune a car and not have data on it, or not be able to provide any information on the factors relating to the tuning, such as AFR curve, type of dyno used, supporting mods used if any...and before/after hp and tq curves.

Are you getting a canned tune from someone and re-selling it under your brand?

I understand your concerns regarding a dyno sheet. When we locate one, we'll definitely post it up.

To answer a couple of your questions, all files are created and tested using a Cartec dyno. We use the dyno solely for those purposes and not as a selling point.

Although the links below are not for the Aston Martin, these dyno sheets will give you an idea of our work.

Mercedes CLS63 TT
Porsche Panamera Turbo
BMW M5
Mercedes C63
