I had the same problem with AM radio on MY08 Vantage, no reception only static noise. Replaced under warantee.

 

I have the same problem on my MY08 Vantage. Unfortunately the previous owner either didn't notice it or didn't care and now it's out of warranty

 

I wouldn't be surprised if they never noticed it. I either listen to satellite radio or the exhaust 100% of the time when driving. I never listen to AM.

 

What is this "AM" radio you all speak of?

 

this just happened to me...i have an 08 so it's out of warranty...any diy fix?

 

Not that I know of..it's a volvo unit..all large percent are know to have the AM stop working..most clients don't even know the AM isn't working. Fix is to replace the radio..aka cd changer (ICM) ..You might be able to get it fixed by a radio repair shop..sure it's something stupid like a split weld/wire/resistor..I've never opened one due to Core's on the part..once opened it's no longer a valid core unit
