If you had the opportunity?

If you had the opportunity to convince Aston Martin to make one substantive change to your (or any current) car, what would it be?

change wish

My brakes ( emergency brake) squealed for 28k miles so far.
Wish that wouldn't happen.
Auto dimming high beams.
Drivers Windshield wiper too obtrusive. It should've been placed better on 07 vantage. I think they've improved it nowadays.

More Carbon fiber to reduce weight. DFI for HP. Better traction to unleash power. Oh and a retractable hardtop made of a composite material that doesn't affect weight.

opportunity

Agreed about more power. I modded my 07 complete so I forgot about that but mine is much better with mods. Stock is too slow

Curious...How the heck can an emergency brake squeal? It is either ON or OFF.

The cable sticks in the guide and keeps the parking parking caliper on, the opposite also happens (with bad consequences ) so leave the car in gear

HID for high beams. Better cup holders. Free upgrade to the 4.7

More fun to drive

Significantly lighter cars are much more fun to drive.

changes

These comments are all valid points IMO. I think my emergency brake pads squeal cuz when I pull up a little on the lever, while in motion, the squeal goes away. Any advice would be helpful.

Meteorite, dealer installed shims for the rear e-brake to prevent squeal.

Colin Chapman would agree...

The old Lotus equation is lose 10lbs = gain 1hp

I wish I had more power in my N400

Chapman, expanded

Lighter Astons would be better in every way as they become more responsive not only to the accelerator pedal but to:

-Brake applications...shorter stopping distances.

-Steering inputs. more tossable.

-Plus durability is improved; the components do not have to work so hard, i.e., clutches, brakes, tires, transmissions.

-And fuel economy gets better.

-Etc.

Take weight out of any vehicle and function improves, cars, bicycles, airplanes, boats, oxcarts, you name it.

Our 3600 plus pound Vantages would be more fun at 3400#.

In LotusCupUSA, we all strip weight from our cars - its the first mod we do.
The Evora is already being stripped down by one shop to see its potential and that's a 3000+ car as well.

The Vantage could be stripped below 3000 lbs and would be a beast on track.
