4.3 vs 4.7 ECU dyno results ...
Hey guys,
EDIT: EuroCharged - Aston V8 Vantage "007" V2 tune released .....
(information below no longer valid but I left it up just for records sake)...
Just noticed the 4.7L ECU upgrade dyno results came out. It is very interesting comparing them to my original 4.3L results. It appears the 4.3L left more room on the table as far as overall maximum gains, but the torque gains on the 4.7L seem to be stronger especially at lower rpms given the much larger displacement compared to the original underpowered 4.3L.
The peak gains were 25whp for 4.7L vs. 31HP 4.3L. However, the gains at at lower rpms were more significant, making 19HP/22TQ at 4400rpms on the 4.7L. Also, it appears the torque is reached much earlier creating a nice peak torque plateau from 4400-5200, versus the stock chart which just peaks at 5100 then slowly starts to drop off. This earlier peak should provide a nice boost in the mid range.
I am debating on just keeping the Gallardo and just getting a 4.7L V8 in addition to the Gallardo, instead of trading out and into a V12. I figure why not just have both . A 4.7L with ECU tune & high flow cats should be more than enough power to satisfy my needs for a nice classy GT, If I ever need more power I can just hop into the Lambo. Also, I still believe the V8 exhaust sounds better than the V12 for some reason (just personal opinion), as well as a certain of the V8 styling cues. The V12 does have the better interior. However, its hard justifying spending 2x the price on a V12 compared to a nice mint used V8V so It may just be a more logical route for what I am looking for.
anyways enjoy,

Interesting. I agree with you on that point too. Thanks for posting this, definitely food for thought.

Actually been looking for a nice 09 4.7 that I will go to town on. I plan on picking up my V8 project where I left off. It is just very hard to find the exact combo I am looking for so I am just being patient until the right one comes along.
My new goal is V12 power out of the 4.7 v8 ... I'm sure it will be possible with enough messaging of the newer v8s.

Not without boring the engine out and you certainly won't have the torque, which is arguably the best part.

Haha, touché on the torque part, but HP may be possible depending on how hard I push her. I agree the V12 is amazing, something about the V8 tho has stolen my heart. Perhaps it's th3 "little engine that could" character .
As soon as I pick up my next one I will immediately get back to finishing the project and extracting as much power out of the car as possible, should be fun

The V8VS 0-60 is about a half a second slower than the V12V. That's a pretty big difference -- about the same difference as between the V8VS and the 4.3L.

And for the record. The V8VS and the V12V are significantly different in the power department. As I mentioned, I just test drove both that were 2012 models and while the V8VS feels stronger than my car, the V12 is in a whole different league.
