Noticed the other day that I have a side wall bulge on the passenger rear OEM Bridgie on my car. Only have a few thousand kms on these and there have been _no_ impacts (I'm so paranoid about scuffing the Sport Pack rims they came on). The tire specialist I usually deal with told me not to bother trying to get Bridgestone to warranty replace them as they will always claim it was due to impact.

Anyway, I'm going to replace the rears with PSS's. I know there are differing opinions about the performance with using a different tire type on each axle but I'll report back here on the driving experience for those interested.

Correction, the 285 size is still not available despite what my tire guy though and what tirerack says. So PS2's going on the rear. Too bad since the the PSS's are a lot cheaper.

I have had th bridge on the front and the PSS on the rear for quite some time, even two track days. Car drives fine, does slide a little in the rear, but that's the fun part. Replacing the bridge after the summer for a few more fall track days.

I drive pss for some time now , best all around tiers I ever had , good grip , not too noisy , stabl & predictable in all weather condition , but for me the Pirelli p zero Corsa are by far the best performance tiers in the right condition , dry and not too hot

My OE Bridgestone RE050A rears are in need for replacing as well. I considered PS2 and PSS but end up ordering a pair of RE11.

How about S-04 instead of PSS?

Another Postive Michelin PSS Endorsement

Yesterday I replaced the stock Bridgestones with Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I have a 2009 V8V with stock, non-sport pack suspension.

I have the optional 19" wheels, so they are 275-35-19 rear and 235-40-19 front. My local tire dealer matched Tire Rack's price such that it was just cheaper, bottom line final installed price, but directly from him.

The difference is pretty dramatic, although it could be argued that the OEM tires were already dead at 20,000 miles and the comparison is not fair.

Still, I can report that the first thing I noticed was a dramatic reduction in vibration though the wheel and greater feel and much less noise. One of the things I like the most about the Aston is the steering feel and weighting, which for me is far better than in other cars I have owned, including a 575M. These tires play to that strength.

Second is turn in, which is now very direct and precise. This contributes to the "on-rails" feeling. It just feels like you can really feel the side of the tire.

Lastly, the grip is no comparison, although to be fair the Bridgestones were worn when taken off. Still, I do not recall these attributes being nearly this good even when the Bridgestones were much fresher.

For me, the Michelin PSS lives up to the hype. YMMV, but it seems like selecting these cannot be a mistake and most should be happy with them.

I'm still confused bc tirerack say that the PSS 285/35 19's exist (I had spot pack rims) and this would represent a change from previous (if you read back in this thread) but then my tire guy was not able to order them. Can anyone in the US confirm they actually exist now down there?

Do you run with the track off?

If you try to order that size online it says that they are currently on back order.

SS's on my DB7

Recently took the OEM Bridgestone's off and replaced them with the Super Sports. The S01's still had much tread but one of them started leaking at the rim and I didn't feel comfortable with the Slime helping it out, especially when I'm known to tickle the pedal and enjoy the feel at 120. S01's aren't made and I found a single correct side for $450! NOPE! (I do have 3 good ones hanging around if anyone gets into the same predicament.) First thing I noticed was the lack of any road noise. Actually heard the machinery working and it was a sweet sound. Handling is fantastic and it doesn't appear that they flat spot after 2 weeks. Haven't driven in the rain yet but will report when and if that happens.

I also did too much research on tires. These were about $1250 at Discount with the extended warranty. Missed any Michelin rebates!

I keep traction control on, although I think I am experienced enough now that I will turn it off. The last time I went on the track, it went off way too much and burnt out my rear rotors and pads. One of the tracks in the are allows for fairly high speed cornering, I had full control but the TCS kept coming on constantly. It's actually annoying as it produces a loud electronic beep when you are pushing it hard.

I just checked Michelins website for the US and they show the 285/35ZR19 as a tire they manufacture, see link below. We need to contact tirerack directly and see if they are actually available.

Update.... I contacted Damon at TireRack and he stated the following regarding the 285/35 19.

That size is just coming into production now. Michelin plans to fill backorders on them in the coming several weeks. Please give me a call if interested in getting on the list. Thanks.

Damon and TireRack are sponsors here, feel free to give them a shout. I know I am.
