Wow! Congratulations on your decision and purchase. And I really appreciate you sharing the experience of going through this process. It was interesting, thought provoking and at times quite poignant.

Time to update your "Garage" and "Signature".

In addition to the V12V club, you also get to join the "wash/detail my black Aston every weekend club" . Not sure where in town you live but I've got 3 knock down/builds and 3 front yard landscaping operations going on on my street. The dust makes me cry.

Oh and, 2.5 words - Cars n Gelato. Would be _am_azing to see a V12V out for the meet some time.

man that thing sounds viscious! Love the way the Aston v12 sounds compared to the v8...much more of a high pitch exotic tone and killer on the revs opening up throttle

@Aston.ca. I will likely be out there this Thursday. But I might not stay till 10:00. I'll do the early show. I used to only drive black cars, then I went to white cars, then I went to colors (orange then blue). Now I'm back to a black Aston, Suzuka Grey TTRS ( basically white with carbon bits) and a white Range Rover Sport SC.

I think the black looks great with the marmite hood vents.

@Sunir, I love the way it sounds. That was the thing that hooked me. Gutteral, but sophisticated. The sound is a masterpiece and I think it is one of Aston's trump cards.

^^^ yeah that's one of the main things that drew me to the v12 cars, the DB9/DBS sound, my DB9 sounds identical to your v12v with the raspy and burbling tone...and with the fuse removed you get that same monsterous note from idle straight to WOT ....just intoxicating, when Aston plunked the 6.0L V12 in the Vantage it too had the same gutteral and sophisticated sound!!! Love it

Good to hear. I haven't done any of the Thursday meets, not sure if I can make this one although early usually works better for me as well. The summer is young though, will catch up at some pt I'm sure.

I'm guessing this Thursday will be busy as its the first one of the month.

Imthinknyou bought your car around the same time I picked up the 09. Fantastic cars. Habit forming and frankly unlike many others.

I get the V12 tomorrow, full report once I get some miles on i.

Here's Clarkson's full review of the V12V in case you haven't seen it. The review starts around the 2:45 mark . . .

You must be really looking forward to taking that, spitting and growling, off the lot. Enjoy!

The Thurs session AFAIK, is only the first thursday of the month. I have not been. Heard abt it from Gekko IIRC. I'm not really sure of the timing.

I bought mine last fall and after a lot of soul searching over what I would pick as _the_ car if I was going to buy one and keep it permanently. Given it's my first foray into the performance car market, to say that I'm pretty happy with the results would be an understatement. My only minor regret is that I did not pick up Grant's book first but I was actually budgeting for a an 06/07 so was happy to find an affordable 08 with modest mileage on it. As the 4.7 L models depreciate I might consider a switch up at some pt. Couldn't really see buying any other brand at this pt.
