Where can I get a spare fuse box cover?

I am going to add the remote unit for the exhaust and want to pick up a spare cover for the fuse box so I can drill access holes for the wires. Is my only option to order through the dealer?

Have you tried just pulling the fuse? The sound isn't that loud and has a nice tone to it.

Being that my wife sometimes rides in the car with me I need to have the ability to switch it on and off.

I've found with the fuse out as long as I keep the rpms down it's still fairly quite, though still has a nice burble.

Ya, it's not that loud. I bought my car and was looking forward to pulling th fuse and 'unleashing' it but found to my chagrin when I went to check that the fuse was already out. Some have opined that you can use the switch to make it quieter on start up but others have stated that there is an override and the valves are opened regardless. Can't recall if there was a thread that settled this issue definitvely or not. I bought a control unit but have not gotten around to setting it up yet so can't say anything yet.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that the exhaust flaps are open from idle to 1500RPM regardless of whether the fuse is in or not. The flaps are only closed from 1500 to 3000RPM when the fuse is in. The flaps are also designed so that they fail to the open position in case of there being a problem with the electric pumps, solenoids, valves or other related equipment.

So if the engine spikes up above 1500 rpm on start up, the switchable fuse box would quiet things down then, unless there's an override.

Put the holes at the back out of sight, or leave the cover raised a little

But if you don't want to do either of those, there are a couple of places breaking Vantages over here in UK, and selling the parts on ebay, do a search including UK and you should see them, then email to ask about the part you want
