Gear box fault code
#16
I took my Vantage to the dealer 400km away for a regular service and to look at this issue. They could not find any codes stored in the computer so they installed the latest ASM software to the TCM. They also reflashed my ECM to the latest software level. I picked up my car and started my trip home and I had the fault come on three times. All three times the only thing that happened was the warning on the dash popped up for a second then went away, the car stayed in gear all three times. Also my clutch is still good. I guess I will have to live with this issue, the good thing is it just seems to be a glitch and nothing bad.

Do you ever take the Hope-Princeton or always the Coquihalla?

When ever there is a Gear fault displayed in the dash, TCU records the fault and sends a msg to the DIM to display the msg..so your TCU is sending a msg to the DIM stating there is a fault..if there is no fault recorded then why would it be sending a msg..aka internal fault with TCU
This could even be a fault with the DIM displaying the msh for no reason, aka internal fault with DIM...but thats a long shot, I'd shoot for the TCU first and rule it out by swapping in a spare unit

Definite advantage. I do love the Hope-Princeton though. If you get it on a weekday when there's not too much traffic it is sublime.
