Looks ok....I guess. I didn't read the description so I don't know if the price was mentioned but its got to be pretty high up there. For big money, performance is a requirement.....but so is outstanding good looks.
Some prople don't care about looks. Some people value extreme exclusivity. The wheel should sell well to the people that can afford them.

 

Looks a little ordinary and a bit scary.

 

I definitely agree with the scary part. Think I'll let others try these first.

 

So, they are or are not DOT and TUV approved for highway use? I would not put any structural part on, especially a wheel, that was not TUV approved.

Your name sounds very familiar. Were you selling Dymag CF wheels at one time? Maybe I'm just mis-remembering...

 

I could see putting these on a race car or track car but what's the point of these on a heavy street car Aston Martin or otherwise?

The low weight but high stiffness of carbon fibre gives a very light weight wheel to the vehicle, significantly reducing the moment of inertia. This saves a considerable amount of power in turning the wheel. Consider that a standard Porsche 997 turbo 19” wheel weighs about 24 lbs.; the Carbon Revolution CR9 equivalent weighs around 14lbs saving about 40lbs per car.

The effect on the car however, is much more than the static weight saving. The moment of inertia calculation is based on the ratio of the mass multiplied by the square of the radius, meaning that as the diameter of the wheel increases then the greater the energy consumption of increased weight becomes.

The effect of Carbon Revolution mono block carbon wheels when fitted to the car is to reduce the gyroscope effect of the wheel this gives the following effects:

1. Improved acceleration
2. Improved braking, reduced stopping distance
3. Lighter, sharper steering, gives better feel and more responsive handling.
4. Allows for softer suspension damper settings giving more tire contact & therefore better grip.
5. Tire temperatures and pressures are more stable
6. Improved wheel & tire balancing
7. Fuel consumption reduces
