Programming the Vantage On Board Garage Door Openers
I have to laugh, because I've spent two hours trying to program the 07's Vantage rear view mirror garage door buttons to my Chamberlin 'Liftmaster" Formula 1 Garage Door openers with Rolling Code. And its kicking my butt!
I have programmed Mercedes, Porsches, Audis and BMWs to these garage door openers in as little as 3 minutes time. This Aston just won't hook up for some reason. I've cleared the Aston codes so many times and nearly wore out the pages in the owners manual carefully following the directions. Is there a trick to doing this? TIA

I cant imagine there would be a trick to it, the one on my DB9 looks similar to the opener on my other cars, I've never used the programable opener on any car though just use the standard multimode garage door opener...just never messed with it, Duane give the dealership a call someone there may be able to get you sorted pretty quickly and we have some Aston techs on the forum here that know the ins & outs on these cars as well

I had this same problem - apparently there are two different opener systems/signals in Europe - probably applies in the US also (I don't mean rolling and fixed) - contact your garage door manufacturer to confirm compatibility - they may tell you like mine did that it is not a problem and they can provide you with a signal converter (£120/$180)
My solution - I keep the spare garage remote in the car - works perfectly every time

I have an older Chamberlain "Security Plus" opener, also with rolling codes, and I found I needed a second person at the opener to work the "Learn" or "training" button there, while I was inside the car operating the mirror buttons. I couldn't get where I needed to be before the opener unit timed out, when I was trying to operate everything by myself. We were able to get the mirror buttons linked to our single opener.
Also, as an aside, have you cleared the codes in the opener before trying to program it to the Aston? However, if you erase the opener codes, you will also have to reprogram all your handheld remotes also .
Hopefully, you have the opener owners manual as well?
At the time, I didn't find the homelink site to be too helpful, as they don't include Aston's as supported vehicles, but here's the link:

I don't have a rolling code opener, but I still found it very difficult to program, and probably spent 30 minutes trying before it'd take. I never got the fast blinking. I think it came down to being really sensitive to how far I held the remote from the mirror. I think the manual said 10-30cm or something? Well that didn't work, I know that. I think I had to go farther before it'd take. Once it took the first time, I tried to program button two from the same distance and it also took right away. So try a varying number of distances, outside the suggested range.

I cant speak to the Aston, but I will say I was having all kinds of similar issues with my garage door and programming remotes, to the point I was about to just buy a new garage door opener, then finally realized the garage door opener would only work with up to 5 remotes, well I'm sure the previous owner have a few or I'd lost or broken some, long story short I cleared out the garage door opener then re programmed all my remotes, problem solved!

I had no issues with the same opener as yours on my prior 09 V8V and current V12V. FWIW, here's a rehash. I know you said you've already tried it, but just in case...
1. Program the car off a remote you know works the door. Hold the remote next to the mirror and simultaneously press the remote and the button on the mirror you wish to program. Wait for the mirror LED to flash slowly (keep pressing) then when it flashes quickly, release both buttons.
2. Now link the mirror to the door motor. Park the car close to the opener and leave the door open. Press the learn button on the back of the motor and then quickly get inside the car and press the mirror button - after a second or two it should be linked and should operate the door.

Man this seems like too much work... My steps for programmig ...
1) pick up another garage door remote
2) place in vehicle on visor or in a storage area somewhere on the door card or center console
3) grab another cold beer and relax
4) continue to watch the ballgame
Job done!
