New Concealed Radar Detector coming to Market
Seems Cobra is coming out with a concealed radar detector that transmits to your smart phone via Bluetooth and your phone in turn becomes the display for the detector. Brilliant idea! Worth a watch to see how it performs when it comes to market.

radar detectors are worthless now a days. To many cops using laser and there is no advance warning on that. Just my $.02. The PO put in an expensive Escort unit in mine and it hardly ever goes off. My old V1 was much better.

Quite a broad generalization, don't you think? Where I live my V1 pays for itself over and over quite frequently. Just because a lot of cops in your area may be using Laser doesn't mean that a good detector can't save you from the hundreds of thousands of radar guns still in use.

I didn't want to get the ci because I didn't think the extra $ was worth it over the ix. Well, I got two laser tickets in a day so I got the ci - haven't been hit with laser since (and that's ok!) the ci has been installed (about 2 years) so I don't know if it works.
A radar DOES save you money - maybe not the ci but the ix or V1 for sure. If a single cop has Ka on and your radar prevents you from getting a ticket it's already paid for itself.
Also, even though laser shifters/jammers are illegal in many states the penalty for that is often less than the penalty for a speeding ticket. For instance, in TX it's the same class of misdemeanor, but a speeding ticket is a moving violation (affects insurance) - therefore, it's worth having them installed because one's better off to get a laser shifter/jammer ticket than the speeding ticket you would have got had they not been installed. I recommend people look into their local laws as it might be worth it for you as well.

Actually, making an all-encompassing statement based on the small sampling of one's own experience is exactly what a "broad generalization" is.
