DB9 Linn Stereo Problems
I've run into a problem where the sound out of the stereo will just die, but the stereo remains on. I try turning it off/on but that does not solve the problem. The only way I can get it back to normal is to stop, turn off the car, and then restart.
Has anybody else run into this problem and does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

What level of audio do you have?
The was an issue of the amps overheating. If I remember right there was a software update that could be done in order to correct the issue. But In some cases the amp will not take the program and it would need to be replaced. If you had a level 3 audio the amp itself could cost around $6000 just for the part.

It's a good thing that Scottish leather works better than Scottish audio.
What a pile of craaaaap (as the Scottish soccer hooligan would say) that Linn concocted. You'd never guess they are a very well respected hi-end audio company...

I think it's the 280 watt version, but you are all probably right. The first time it happened was during the summer when it was over 100 degrees outside. For that price I think it's a lot cheaper just to keep pulling over and doing a reset. Thanks for the info.

This would be worthwhile as a potential fix...keep it cooled off. Easy to install, not too pricey:

My guess is your amp is going bad like mine did. Just take the amp out of the car and bring it to an electronics place that repairs these things, much cheaper! Also if you contact Linn they will tell you to go threw Aston Martin, they want nothing to do with their own products. Kinda a joke if you ask me, it definitely let me know that they don't stand behind there products! I'm also a high end stereo guy as well (have a set of B&W Diamonds) and i'm glad I got first hand experience in how Linn treats their customers. If I was looking at any of their products stay away!

Plus one the stuffs crap, defiantly not up to today's standards I spend about 4k at my kcal high end stereo shop and it flat destroys any stock AM system, and looks just like stock, we were able to keep the stock head unit, replaced all the speakers added an amp and some switching gear to integrate with the stock system, and I now have a place to plug in my I pod!

I believe Aston went with them because its a UK company, there are better choices in car audio, they are far better known in the home audio world. I don't think they even show car audio on their web site.

Hi end home audio..yes, a long well-respected history and rep. Never heard of them for mobile audio before AM or since.

We went with Focal speakers in the doors and rear panels.
