Stupid stuff people say about your Aston Martin

Bentley comment a lot, also mistaken for mazerati... And jaguar. One time at a gas station had some unsavory characters ask if it was the new camaro! Lol get the James bond comments too. These cars are just so super rare, most people never see them. I had many people tell me that my DB was the first Aston theyve ever seen in person, this is ussually followed by "besides the James bond movies!" haha lol

Yes, the " how much does/did it cost?" Also very ackward when someone asks/says the monthly payments must be huge and you respond you don't have any. Ussually say I saved a long time for it, which is the truth. I mistakenly expected evry one to know beacause of the movies, but they are much more rare than i believe we think, due to our familiarity. I was in a SB at Univ of De and it was weird. People would walk by and look at and have a puzzled look, then a crowd taking pictures, then the "inspectors" that required a trip out of my seat to my car, innocent but still makes me nervous, I can only imagine what it would be like I'd it were red!

I've never owned a car where the most common question is: What is that? Very good natured tone and I don't take offense to it b/c most are followed by: That's the most beautiful color I've ever seen..... Also never owned a car where soooooo many people take pictures of it. Was parking the other day and a mother with her two sons ALL had their phone cameras out snapping away.... Was a little embarrassing! My neighbor thought we had two Jaguars (have an XJ Supersport) and was confused when I told him I've had the DB9 for a year. He thought it was a Jag.

Anytime I get questions on how fast, how much power, or how much did it cost I reply back with some varient of.. "adequetely..." ....it's a polite and respectful reply but it stops the more questioning path right away without offending anyone.
The other day I thought I heard a ford fusion comment... can be expected though because of the similar front grilles to the DB...ugh!

Is that a Bentley? All the time. When I tell them its an Aston they usually say "Oh, thats better". I have heard the Crossfire name as well and I just don't see where they get it. Most often is what is it? Most annoying is what do you do? I have never had negative comments though. The Bond car thing doesn't come up as much as you would think.

I get the questions all the time about "is that a Bentley or Maserati?" glad to see I'm not the only one out there getting this. But when I tell them it is an Aston Martin most of the time they repeat it as Asthon Martin like Asthton Kutcher's name. No you fools. Stop adding letters to the name, its basic English.
When my girlfriend drives it she has been asked if she is a high end call girl or we sell drugs. I always tell her to tell them what I really do if they **** her off, tell them her boyfriend sells guns and that usually makes them move along. Pretty quickly too.

^^^ I've gotten the Austin Martin one before too, several times...ussually in more rural areas...I think to myself are they mixing up Austin Healy with Aston Martin...and then I think ... if they don't know Astons chances are they don't know Austins either, even though the latter was produced in much higher quantities... it's doubtful if they cannot discern the difference
...I've heard the "Ashton Martin" one also... I dunno if the person was drunk or just slurring or not pronoucing it right lol...either way, I should have said..."Wrong, it's an Austin Martin!" ... hahaha!!! !

Great comments!!
I've been asked if I was Bond (couldn't help but chuckle), did it come with machine guns, and of course windows fogging up in cars you pass as they stare, point, and take pictures/video.
Best question I've been asked -' Was it worth every dollar?"
My answer - "and then some" :-)
Surprises people when you tell them it's a daily driver as well - but what good would it be sitting in the garage.
