The coil just slips on the spark plug and is held in place by the coil cover by pressure...the connectors have a clip that secures to the coil, the connector clip on the engine harness side breaks off and the connector would need to be replaced in that case

SaidK1985 is infamous around these parts
So all fault codes disappeared after the mechanic replaced the rest of the ignition coils. Just thought ill come online to update everyone. Thanks for all your input!

Hey guys, I'm worried. It's been only 5 months after i replaced all the parts incl. inanition coils, spark plugs, catalytic converter, etc, and now the emission service light came back on. It's giving me the same fault codes:

Stored Codes:
P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

Pending Codes:
P0316 - Engine Misfire Detected on Startup (First 1000 Revolutions)
P2106 - Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Limited Power
P0606 - Control Module Processor
P2105 - Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Engine Shutdown

There must be something else not working which causes all this. Can anyone think of something that's wrong with the car? The misfires shouldn't happen 5 months after having serviced the car?

If I were you have the local Aston dealer take a look at it, they have the equipment to diagnose these cars correctly. Unfortunately, the DB9 is not DYI or local garage friendly when it comes to reading codes and getting things reset. How many miles are on your car?

I wouldn't try to drive the car as you might end up destroying your new cats. Have the car trailered to the garage.

When is the last time the battery was replaced?

You can ignore the 2106 and 2105, these are just telling you the car is in limp mode. P0606 is an ECU code, but coupled with the misfire, especially in the first 1000 RPM before the alternator builds some charge... seems like a voltage issue?

I think there is a software update for this issue.

Yah, 2nd that one..

P0606 - Control Module Processor, I don't see why this code is there. I would get the software level checked and if needed, updated...dealer only

You also don't have a cylinder misfire flagged..you have a P0300 for random and P0316 for startup...but I would normally see at least 1 cyl flagged..this is a sign the misfire factors are not stored. You could have 1 of the 12 cylinders misfiring and the PCM will to report the concern...the dealer can report if the misfire factors are stored.

I would love to help with the concernany way I can, but this car really needs to be hooked up with the dealer AMDS and scanned/tested..they may charge more per/Hour, but you will spent less hours at the dealer than compared to a local indie that is not equipped with a AMDS..

So 1st step, get software checked, 2nd step verify if misfire factors are stored..
