3rd time a Charm? Is the V12VS worth it??

There does seem to be a lot of votes for the CGT V10. In fact I love all NA V10's: old E60 M5, Gallardo's....I'm curious why more car manufacturers don't use the V10 platform?

1000 mile update:
I've had the car just over a month, and I'm still enamored by the V12VS. I get excited to drive it every single day. Here's how my morning starts:
Sliding into the most comfortable seat and smelling the wiff of the English leather....just sitting and soaking in the ambience of the plush ****pit. I still get thrilled pushing the glass ECU into its slot and hearing the roar of the V12....then watching the B&O raise in the dash.
After warming up, I always crack open the window (even in 100 deg heat) to hear the crisp symphonic exhaust. I then push the Sport button to amplify the 12 cylinders even more. I only turn up the B&O system half way, so as not to drown out the exhaust...and then my day begins.
So here are some after thoughts after 1 month of ownership:
British cars always have idiosyncratic quirks. I've had the dreaded gas cap being stuck (just needs adjustment) - easy fix. It took me weeks to figure out how to zoom in on the nav map (dealer had to show me button is hidden on the steering wheel!)
The steering wheel is the perfect size. I've always felt the Ferrari steering wheels were too large and loose. Lotus steering wheel is a bit small. The AM steering wheel is a perfect size and the steering ratio is perfect (15:1 - hydraulic assist linked to adaptive suspension.
The seats are über comfortable! My old V8V seats were a bit stiff and suspension felt tight so you could feel everything. The seats in the V12VS are, dare I say, plush. Wife loves it.
Re-reviewing the transmission, I have a slight change in tune. I still absolutely love it because there is an aura of rawness. I do feel the shifts a bit more during down shifts, mostly because I am aware of the car more. Hyper shifts during up gear changes can be felt, but again, that's part of the adrenaline rush.
But here is another huge plus...because of the powerful low end torque, there is a wider range of power per gear. That means there is less overall shifting in general because the majority of torque is available above 1000 RPM.
One last note, please order your Aston in pearlescent paint...the artistry is amazing, it's like a Breguet guilloche dial.
Finally, people of all walks of life appreciate the sleek elegance of the car, children, women, boys and men. You can tell I am still seduced by the car. Honeymoon phase ain't over. I still look back every time I park the car to appreciate some subtle detail.
My kid thinks it's pretty cool too.

Nice review Eddie. I'm going to have to write a review of your old car, now that you are sort of driving my car (2011 V12 Vantage, 6 spd).
There are very few cars that reward every sense the way a V12 Vantage does. They are a curious mix of luxury and hooligan.

Agree with this statement. Same with the V12V. On mountain runs I would just shift between 3rd and 4th. Fantastic torque band.

Here's another crap review by a journalist. At least they praise the steering, but again harp on the transmission - everyone seems to be suckered into a DCT
