It's been discussed before, but there have been no updates as of yet. The deadline is looming and still nothing from aston. This is definitely not an easy work around, nor is there some quick fix they can implement. Basically until the new AMG GT comes out (which meets the regulation for sure of course), Aston won't be able to sell here.

I guess the good news is, resale value on used Vantages should stay level or even go up since there is no new supply coming anymore

I know in the USA, can't even order a coupe(DB9/V8V) because Aston can't deliver before Sept 1st..
In Canada though, we can still order....and we're slightly stricter on crash testing..go figure

You're presuming that the exemption won't be granted I guess. Although I have no inside info, there's plenty of reason to think that it will, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, because it is only for a short time period, and secondly because other car manufacturers have been granted exemptions in the past under similar circumstances.

Also don't know about used Astons going up in value if the ban were in effect. If I were in the market, I'd be reluctant to buy a car which is no longer being sold in the U.S.

People buy cars that are no longer made at all. As a matter of fact, there are more cars that are no longer made than cars that are made.
