Aston Martin display screen cannot close
Hello,my 2009 AM v8 vantage's display screen cannot close when I turn off the car. Also sometime nav map cannot come out,and sometimes can work, and showed“ please insert the disc”. Idk why this problem how to solve it. I went to AM dealer today to check this problem, the dealer checked the disc which on the trunk,he told me there is no disc, but sometimes nav map can work, the dealer just said im luck. Idk how to solve this problem. Could someone know about this?thank you

screen opening/closing might be due to the gears, it's an easy fix.
nav disc issue might be because of the region your disc is in. if you go to an area not covered by a given disc, it'll give that error message and you have to swap in the correct disc for the area.

Not sure about that, all the navtec systems need to have the regional disc inserted. It can load off satellite but will keep checking the disc to verify. Main reason for the 3 dvds..west/central/east...hence why he gets the msg every now and then.
There was an update for an issue, if you get the msg and a disc is already in the nav, then the update would be needed with the fix DVD that would be loaded into the nav, then clients regional disc would be put back in.
Same goes for the new garmin(this is not your system though). It has a hard drive pre loaded..get an update map sd card and load it in..it will load, but take that sd card out and the system will soon default to its original build maps..
First step..get a map disc. Some ppl just have them sitting around. Last updated discs from Aston Martin was 2009.5..newer discs can be loaded but are from Volvo
If your on the east coast, someone on the west coast just has a east coast DVD sitting in his boot thats never been used.. And vise versa.
Second step, once you have the disc inside, the screen will then freeze with the msg to insert disc..that's confirmation for the tech. So he can do the update and verify the newest software is loaded.
