VelocityAP twin disc clutch and lightweight flywheel install complete! And it is AMAZING! The pedal is so much lighter now, and the clutch action is quick. Engagement seems to be just about where it was before, which is fine. It is SO much easier to drive the car smoothly now. What a difference! This is how it should have been from the factory!

Huge thanks to Stuart at VelocityAP for working with me on the kit, and to Vinnie Carollo of VEX in Baton Rouge for another flawless install.

I'm surprised to read that you are concentrating on the pedal force and engagement instead of talking about changes in the engine behavior. Is it because the difference is not significant?

Install was only completed this past weekend, and it's been raining since. Not a lot of miles on the new setup yet.

I did mention it is a lot easier to drive smoothly now, I guess I could have been clearer about that. All based on my 1+ hr drive home from the shop....Rev matching on downshifts is WAY easier to get right now. Stop/go is much smoother now with the stronger clutch and lighter flywheel. Engine definitely feels lighter in terms of rpm inertia (on shifts and an on highway decel).

Will share more impressions as I put on more miles. But so far I would say this mod is a win. If you are getting to need a new clutch anyway this is definitely an option that should be considered rather than a straight oem replacement.

I can say that when I got home that day I had the same excited butterflies as if I had just taken delivery of a new car. It is definitely an exciting mod.

I hope you don't have performance compound tires on there? They might fall off in chunks when it gets cold enough.

I backed my car out of the garage for some contractors to do some work. Getting an Aston Martin sign (just the lettering) installed to a wall.

I have an AMR clutch sitting on the shelf waiting to go on in the spring. The AP tune that I bought last spring did such a great job of waking up the engine. Throttle response at low RPM improved noticeably, heel-n-toe can be accomplished quite a bit faster and the engine is much more eager to rev in the low to midrange. It has absolutely improved the responsiveness of the engine and I was starting out with a power pack car, which was supposed to be better than the stock 4.3 already. Now I have to install the FW and clutch to see how good it can get even though my clutch seems fine so I'm always interested in hearing the results that others have experienced with the updated clutch.

How hard was the header install? Any noticeable power increase with the headers? Not just dyno numbers but seat of pants feel.

+1 on that header question. Looks really tight down there.

I did the install on jackstands. It was very time consuming. My car is parked for the winter so I could take as much time as required. I would not want to do this myself if I was under any type of time crunch. After researching the job I was really worried about the nuts and bolts that attached the headers to the block being flimsy and easily stripped. That was not the case. The nuts and bolts are very robust. Frankly, it was kinda a nightmare. You need to use a different approach to access every bolt. Swivels, extensions, wobbley, wrenches......

I did run the car with the new headers installed with the cats that were installed in the summer. It's louder. I can't drive my car until spring. I hope with the tune, headers, and cats it will be worth the effort.

I won't be able to give any real feedback on the mods until I can really drive the car. That will be about 3 months from now. If you believe what the vendors are saying.....

ECU tuning 30hp

Cats 10hp

Headers 10hp

I should "feel" 50 hp?

Can you expand a little on why you did the EGR delete? Also, will it not affect emissions?

I really struggled to remove that pipe. AFAIK you can't remove it without having the RHS header half way out ! I considered just cutting it off. Yea, removing it was a real PITA. I didn't want to put it back in.

I bought a tune from VelocityAP. I will request that this is modification is installed, they can tune for it.

Had my wheels repaired and refinished. Fronts had some flat spots from potholes. Went darker to hide brake dust. Any tips on how to keep them shiny and new? Ordered new center caps but got the silver. Might try to darken them a bit to match.

Red vent detailing, 5 minute job
I've darkened the photo out to bring out the red.
