Getting a DBS Superleggera - any known issues?
I am new to this forum. I would like any imput you might have.
I want to get the DBS Superleggera. Do you know of any issues with the stereo?
my dealer gave me a demo car to use, and the loved the car. While driving the demo car there was an issue with the stereo. The volume with increase to max volume on its own. When you turn it down, it would keep increasing to max on its own.
I called the dealer and told him about the issue. He said, he’d only heard of that happening once with another car, and that we would look into with the demo.
I loved the car so much, that I decided to take the leap and get one.
I was getting a Satin Xenon Grey one, with Alcantara seats. Car is sweet!
I go to the dealership to take delivery of the car...signed all of the paperwork, gave them the money, everything.
my sales guy is walking me they the car and showing me how everything works. He gets to the stereo, and slides his finger across the volume control, and the stereo goes out and stops working. Then, none of the buttons (media, radio, etc) are working. Then we turned the car off, and restarted it. The radio comes back on, but starts increasing to max volume on its on. Turned it down, and was it keeps increasing.
I then told the salesman to void the sell, and I would not be taking delivery that day.
I thought is was quite odd that the same stereo issue existed in the demo car, and the new car!
he called me a couple days later and told me they fixed the issue.
I’ve been out of town, so I haven’t gone back to the dealership.
i do want to purchase a DBS.
have any of you heard of this issue with the 2019 DBS?
I would appreciate any input you might have.
I apologize for the lengthy post!

The turbo V12s are too new to have any useful reliability information available.
The volume issue you're having sounds like a software glitch. I wouldn't be too worried about these things. I'm sure they will sort it out for you.

I'm on my 6th Vantage, a 2007, a 2009, and a 2015 V8's and then two 2015 V12S's. None had the stereo problem. Shortly after I got my 2017 V12S which has a very different panel, I ran into another local 2017 V12S owner who said he loved the car but every once in awhile the stereo goes dead (the entire NAV). IN the 5 months and 5,000 miles I've had mine, it's happened maybe 6 times. Sometimes after 10 minutes or so it comes back alive, sometimes not until I restart the car. My Aston dealer called Aston and they claim they never heard of the problem, which with past experiences it's hard to believe. It's not often enough to be a major concern, just part of being a low volume car maybe. When I get a phone call coming in, I can tell, because before the ring, for about 2 seconds the volume of the radio goes full loud, then it start ringing - odd. My panel is the older style, not the newer one in the DBS.

I wouldn't worry too much about a buggy stereo, those are easy to fix, its not like you're buying a used car, its brand new so there will always be some issues, it wouldn't be a British car otherwise lol

Hope they do a better job of painting than they did on my 2017 DB11. The paint was a heavy metallic and I know that a paint with a heavy amount of metallic is hard to paint. It was very blotchy. It was nicely polished so there was no orange peel, but the metallic wasn’t even. That drove me crazy and I no longer have the DB11. The paint on my Vantage is perfect and what you would expect on an Aston Martin. The DB11 was a nice car just nowhere near the quality of the previous generation of Astons.

New DBS is an incredible machine, i've driven a few and its always a heartbreak to get out of it!
As for the stereo issue there have been some cars that required the center stack assemble to be replaced due to a part failure. This is 100% under warranty and a quick repair!
Good luck with your DBS!
