New Vantage?

New Vantage?
I had a 2009 vantage and sold it several years ago. Since then I have had a Porsche GT4, MB AMG and now have a 458 spider and an M4. However, I miss the vantage and have been considering getting another one.
What are your thoughts on the new vantage? I see prices are coming down rapidly as they always seem to do on the Astons so am thinking now may be a good time to grab one. I loved my 2009 but how does the new one compare?
Curious to know others’ thought.

If you like the new design, then go for it. As an old gen owner, I'll be honest saying new Vantage drives good, but that's it for me. I don't like the design at all( interior is closto%%@^ & exterior out my taste.)
I'm sure you can find new Vantage for deep discounted price (25% or more)

I have a 2008 Aston V8 Vantage and love it. I had a 2017 DB11 and it was fast but other than that I don’t like the new Astons. They are now more of a mass market car. They don’t have that special hand built uniqueness that the previous generation of cars had. Mine DB11 had a horrible paint job the metallic was very inconsistent and blotchy. Find a nice low mileage previous generation car, they are far nicer cars.

Getting a new Vantage at a discount would be a good thing!
I saw a new Vantage on the road the other day. The car certainly has road presence with its wide stance and flared fenders, but as many are mentioning here, the new design is hit-or-miss with many Gaydon-era car owners.
I aspire to have both a Ferrari and an Aston in my garage one day! If you can swing it, do it!
What color and transmission are you going to get for the new Vantage?

I have had both now. 2008 and 2019 currently. There is honestly no comparison at all. I don't think I can think of even one thing that I like in the old Aston over my current one. The new one is just finally up-to-date with the times and is significantly superior in every way.

My opinion - since I have a V12S it's different - my comparison is V12S vs new Vantage - the V12S is elegant - not so with the new Vantage. The interior is just about as perfect in design - not so with the new Vantage. The speed? The V12S drives and feels better, however, the new Vantage is more comfortable and drives a bit smoother ride. The new Vantage probably gets a lot better gas mileage than the V12S. The V12S is far more involving driving. The new Vantage I felt more explosive when I hit the gas, but then it stuck in gear - I found that irritating. The new Vantage wheels fill the wells, an easy fix by going 20's on the old Vantage (my V8's were 20's) otherwise the stock wheels and tires look smallish on the older V8/V12 Vantages compared to the new. The interior is a convoluted mess in the new Vantage - as soon as I sat in it I wanted to get out, but thought I'd see how it drove. The dash in the old Aston was special - the new digital dash for some reason to me looked cheap. Pop the hood on the New Vantage and somewhere beyond that sea of plastic the engine hides - pop the hood on the older V8's and that's what a car should look like - the V12S-wow.
So few are buying the new Vantage even with deep discounts will it fare worse than the already not so great resale of the older Vantages?
When I bought my new (used) 2017 V12S there were over 50 on Carguru's because of 2015 lease returns and the V12S market was in the toilet as far as used prices. Mine had 160 miles and was $145K (list $205). I could have gotten a new (used) much cheaper, but not in the colors I wanted. A new Vantage with 25% discount would have been as much if not more. A few CPO V12S vantages are asking around $90K - probably would take much less on some. There are only 23 V12S Vantages on CarGuru's - and only 4 are essentially 'new'. So, comparing an older V8 Vantage to the new one is more of a spread in performance than comparing a V12S to the new Vantage. At less than $100K for a CPO used V12S or $150K for a discounted new V8 Vantage, or $120K for a new (used but very few miles) V12S which is the better deal, and which over the next few years is a better investment? The V12S over time is more likely to reach collector status (maybe) - the V8's probably not with the volume, and the new V8 highly doubtful.
Just my rambling thoughts

20's look more like they fill the wheel wells (like the new Vantage), here's 20's on the previous V8 I had - made the car look better. I'd do the same on my V12S, but I like the stock V12S wheels how they look. Still, 20's in the front still left a pretty large gap (the rear they closed a bit because of the offset of the wheels) The new Vantage seems to have filled the wheel well better. I put spacers on my V12S which helps. Lowering would also help, but not going to go that route.

There is a reason why AML discounts the new Vantage so much, they are sitting like stones at the dealers.
What I recognized, every time someone leases/ buys or finances a new Vantage is screwed two week later since the prices drop even more.
It drives good but that's it for me. I can't handle the exterior or interior design.
Even opening the engine bay what exposes a plastic landscape makes me gag.

Lots to think about and thanks everyone for your responses. I have been looking at the V12S but wonder if I will regret 'going back in time'. Again, really appreciate everyone's feedback!
