Seat heater with a mind of it's own.....
Here's a new one, I think. Twice this month, I've been driving the car when the seat heat function has come on by itself (possibly on start-up, I didn't notice it at first) and the back of the seat (not the squab) gets VERY warm. The 3-position switch is in the centre/off position, and the little squiggly heat symbols for 'Hi' and 'Low' are unlit, and yet the seatback gets uncomfortably warm. Bot times, when I have turned the ignition off and started the car again, the problem disappeared ??!! Any thoughts?
BTW, while I was leafing thru the Handbook looking for a fuse guide with a picture of the layout, I came across the little gem that AM recommends that the airbags be replaced at 10 years; has anybody tackled THAT little number?

if i remember correctly, there was a problem with seat heater controls in earlier cars. there was a recall. my 07 v8v seat heater controls are still original ,and working fine. but still covered under that recall if they ever act up.i hope

I had a similar issue with my seat heaters having a mind of there own when I first got my car . I had the recall modification done , passenger side is fine . Drivers side has never worked since . I gave up fiddling with it as the heaters are not that good anyway . The seat heaters in my wife’s daily VW work way better .

I had a 2012 V12 Vantage.
There was a recall on that car to fix a faulty seat heater.
I believe recalls are not time dependent and you can have any affected car fixed regardless of the year.
Thanks,
JH

You can absolutely have this fixed under the recall, assuming it hasn't been fixed already. You can go on Aston's technical hub and -- I think without paying -- put in your VIN and it'll show if it's an "open" recall issue. This is a safety issue and they don't want to deal with NHTSA, it'll be fixed for free.
Here are the NHTSA documents on the recall
If you're curious what's being fixed, the technical bulletin is attached.
