2008 Maintenance Overhaul

I was bold / stupid enough to buy a 2008 V8 vantage with less than stellar maintenance records. Basically nothing going back ~5 years although the owner said he did do the basic oil changes. I purchased the car despite the lackluster records because since then he put only ~7k miles and the PPI came back without any red flags. I've driven for a few weeks without anything too concerning other than topping off the coolant.

That said, I want to do a solid "refresh" on the car to make up for some maintenance that may have been "just getting by" for the last few years. Here is on what's on my list... Any other suggestions of what to do, anything seem superfluous? What would be a reasonable cost for all that good stuff if I took it to an indy shop? The clutch was redone at about 8k miles ago and the car has just under 30k miles as of right now.

1. Change Oil, oil filter, new seals, etc. - Castrol Edge Supercar 10W-60 or your recommendation
2. Change engine intake filters
3. Replace cabin (pollen) filters
4. Change gear oil - Castrol BOT270A or your recommendation
5. Brake fluid flush
6. Coolant flush - Havoline Xtended life or your recommendation
7. Replace spark plugs
8. Clean throttle butterfly

I'd add brakes and tires (check the date codes) to the list - though a quick visual check will confirm if those are needed. In addition to the usual liquids, those are what I usually end up 'refreshing' when I buy a new car.

You might want to be prepared to change out the battery, if it hasn't been done recently. These cars tend to be quite sensitive to voltage and a failing battery can give rise to a variety of seemingly unrelated faults and issues.

pretty much what i did over a period of about six months with my new-to-me 2007 vantage...

but i put in a new battery, brake pads, tires, alignment, thermostat, and bluetooth. but i didn't do a brake fluid flush or new spark plugs. most of the things i replaced, if not all, were the original parts from 2007.

Iridium plugs are normally good for 100K miles...personally I'd skip that step to focus your $$$ on any other problems you may encounter.
Coil packs are a more likely to be a problem than the plugs, IMHO!
If you don't have misfire problems, don't fool with the ignition system just yet.

But the car has only done 30k miles, so lets not go overboard.

As mentioned above the spark plugs are rated for a lot more than 30k miles, and lack of servicing won't have made any difference, so leave them until you reach about 70k miles.

The battery might need replacing, but that is true of any car over 3 years old.

Otherwise your list looks sensible, so go through those items then just enjoy the car, get into annual services as per the schedule, and fix anything that breaks. I'd want to take the car to an Aston specialist for its next service to have their experienced eyes look over the car to see if they spot anything, then you're caught up.

Bold

BOLD yes, Stupid, no. No doubt you got an excellent deal on the car. Don't be afraid spending a few bucks on "catch up" preventative maintenance.

I recently bought a 2011 Vantage with 23K miles - last known service was from Miller Aston Martin in 2017 - supposedly fluids changes from the jag dealer I bought it from recently - also new TPMS installed at Miller before it was delivered. No stamps in the owners manual. Towards the end of this winter I'll have a 20K mile Aston Martin service done at Morries Aston Martin here in Minneapolis with a stamp in the owners manual, then every other year a service done as I'll unlikely drive it more than 1K miles or so annually as I also have a C8 Vette with 5 years left on the 7 year warranty to add my bulk of miles on, and the Vantage to get my Aston fix.
