More Sound

In stock form this car sounds "okay" but is still pretty quiet so I picked up a set of Velocity AP secondary cat deletes. This is a great easy bolt-on mod to add a bit more sound especially in Sport+ and Track Mode with both rev up and adds a bit to the overrun on deceleration. Eventually I'll continue with downpipes and then situating the side exit exhaust and back box for dumps but for now this was a great start!

New Wheel/Tire Setup

It's been a long (but worthwhile) wait for my new custom APEX Race Parts forged wheels commissioned specially for my Aston Martin Vantage "Project Vulcan" build!

In true Vulcan fashion, I wanted to run run a satin black 19" 10-spoke fully forged wheel design that is packed with functional Motorsport features. I'm in love with how these look over the factory carbon ceramic brakes and look forward to share more engineering highlights in future posts for those interested! I paired these with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires in respect with the same tires ran on the Vulcan (when in non-slick form).

Great work so far! The rendering is what I would've like AM to build straight from the factory. I feel like they had all the elements to put something like this together, even if as a one off. The F1 edition vantage could've been this, maybe? Either way really excited to see the finished product!

I've seen your car in the background of some Youtube videos and have been admiring it. Love the design you've gone with for the stipes / lines. Looks amazing (as does your photo shoot) and can't wait to see more!

Much appreciated! And I couldn't agree more..I think that AM could have really done something wicked with this body so it excites me to do something on my own. Appreciate the support!

3D Scanning

The 3D scanning has begun! Easily the most challenging part of this build is recreating a proportionate version of the Vulcan aero which includes the front "mouth" and splitter, side skirts (which retain the side exit exhaust openings), rear diffuser and rear wing. From the original conception of this plan, it was important to me to use all of the factory mounting points to stay true to the Vantage body lines (and to make this a reversible process) and retain the OEM hardware as well. Remember, the goal is here is not to try to build a "replica" but to build the car as if Aston Martin themselves build a "Vulcan Edition" variant of the Vantage.

New Steering Wheel

The Vulcan open-top racecar style steering wheel might be controversial but had to be done…and I love it.

Custom Carbontastic dry carbon and alcantara Vulcan steering wheel. It matches the OEM alcantara interior perfecting:

That's the second one I've seen on a Vantage, this one is a F1 edition.
