Aston Martin Exterior Trim Turning Purple?

Aston Martin Exterior Trim Turning Purple?
I own a XPEL dealership. We recently had a 2017 DB 11 come to us with water spotting all over it from being next to a sprinkler system, which uses non-potable water here in Florida, or this customer may have his system use well water....I'm not sure. So we basically had to remove the water spots off the entire car, and then install XPEL ceramic on the entire car. The car looked fabulous when complete. A few days later he calls and asks what we put on the "black" trim of his car....it had turned to a purplish tint in areas. I have not seen the car in person yet.
My guy who did the work on the car says this is a common problem with Aston Martins? Trim turning a purplish tint? Anyone seen or heard of this problem? The customer thinks it's something we did to his car so is blaming us and saying we have to fix it...
HELP!!

I'm not sure about Aston's, but it is common to see on Mercedes vehicles where the black (especially the black) or anodized aluminum trim around windows and such starts to turn purple over time, especially if the car is out in the sun a lot. They coatings are just not very UV stable, but it lasts "good enough" past the 36/48/60 month factory warranty.
This of course does not mean that your coating or cleaning materials didn't mess it up...

The mirror wings all turn purple. Bought a used DB11 last year and mirror wings are bluish. Checked out other DB11's and all the same. Don't notice it until you notice it. Other black trim fine. It wasn't you.

Thanks for your reply and input.
The customer is convinced we caused it when we put ceramic on his car. I pointed out that the other black plastic areas/pieces were not affected. He didn't care....kept coming back to the mirror plastic and to a lesser degree, the long horizontal plastic strip below the windows running front to back that had a very slight purple tint to them.
Crazy!!

I suggest you remain firm in your position. It was not anything you did that created the purple hue. He will not be a repeat client in any case (and you probably wouldn't want him anyway), so there's nothing to lose. You did nothing wrong and he will not be able to convince a court that you did. He'll be a unsatisfied customer and may bad mouth you and leave a bad review, but that happens.

Unfortunately the mirror assembly turning blue/purple is common on these cars from a warm climate. I purchased a 2019 Vantage last year. It uses the same mirror assembly as a DB11. The car came from Florida so it had seen a lot of sun. It's not as noticeable outdoors as in the picture. I can really only see it in the garage with bright LED lights. It is 100% not something attributable to you. I suggest you have your customer look closely at other DB11's or Vantages. Once I saw it on my car, I noticed it on other Aston cars that I saw in my dealers used inventory.

Here's another example of purple/blue mirror assemblies. This car is on Bring a Trailer. In picture #46 you can see that the purple/blue color.
