Pin 5 of that connector with an orange with white stripe could be the interior illumination. I'm not 100% sure so it would be good to verify with a volt meter.

That is pin 5. And it is orange and white. Any clue where I could find a wiring diagram?

https://db9s.com/aston-martin-db9-2008-wiring-diagrams/

2008 If you look at the driver's seat wiring there is an Orange with White on a pin 5 that is illumination but there are at least 13 pins on that connector including seat back release and memory switches. Connector C0255

Pre 2008 it is also connector C0255 and there should be a yellow wire in pin 6.

However I'm pretty sure my car has the same single orange wire that is not connected.

Th

that’s correct. There are 13 wires in the newer seat. I’m trying to figure out wiring because I’ll have to use the old connector. So one wire will not function as there are only 12 slots possible.

Pins 9 through 12 are memory settngs so if you don't have memory seats they won't be needed

Did you look at transferring the base frame complete with module/wiring/etc from the old seats to the new seats? That seems like the most straightforward way to go. The new seats will have memory which requires a updated seat switch modules, probably new mirrors with folding and memory, and then the seat and door modules will absolutely need coded to with AMDS to function correctly.

I did. And I’m pretty capable. But it seems more intricate than just swapping bases. I will take another look at it and see if I missed anything. As my initial thoughts were to go this route if anything came about that wouldn’t allow the swap. I’ll try to post some pics of both the bases also. Wished it were just a simple swap plug and play. But had a feeling it would be more involved. But like anything if you can dream it, then you can do it…right?

Here’s the base from the 2009 vantage.

Here is the original

Thank you for that.
I don’t have memory. And really don’t care for it. Don’t believe I’ve every programmed memory in any car I’ve owned that was equipped
