Shifter cable clips

Shifter cable clips
Had some trouble losing gears intermittently and found that both shifter cable clips on the transmission side were missing.
I'm talking about the 10c worth of metal clip that the dealers want $62/each for 4G43-7K391-AA
These seems like a design flaw to leave a safety critical function as just slight friction fit.
Any alternate parts and/or solutions to this problem?
I'm thinking of using some sort of adhesive to keep the collars down. Or perhaps making a couple of holes in the bracket and using safety wire.

There is no metal clips on the gearbox end, they are self latching. The metal clips that are referenced are on the selector end at the tunnel. There is a specific width zip-tie that is used to keep the gearbox end cable locked in position.

Parts website says there are 4 of these clips. Two at the shifter/console side and two near the trans/rear end.
In the two photos I posted earlier from my car, those cables are loose. They would slip off if you hit a bump. What is meant to hold them down? Zip ties? What do you zip tie it to? There are no holes in the bracket.

You mean just like the issues and time wasted with this right now? If they worked I wouldn't be here.

The selector end meaning up top , the cables on the transmission bracket are self locking with no such clips. And they seem to come unclipped so the factory field repair is to install a spec diameter zip tie to prevent the release of the locking mechanism. I'll try to find a pic to show how it's supposed to fit.

Thanks. I'm curious how one would zip tie it down without making a hole in the bracket.
Self-locking? With what? The power of the holy spirit? Its a perfectly smooth collar/bushing.

Because they provide incorrect information some of the time. On the 1st photo you attached there are white zip-ties in the location where it's supposed to help secure them from sliding open. It's mainly the left cable that comes of from aggressive 1-2 shifts. I utilize one of the holes in the bracket that the reverse switch connector fits to and loop a zip-tie over the outside of the cable to where it's just snug.

I wasn't going to trust a zip tie solution here.
The bracket has a recess below the cable slots, it really looks like there was supposed to be positive engagement from a clip of sorts. Either way I fixed it my way.
