Thoughts on serpentine belt/2 pulleys replacement
Good Morning all-
I have a well-sorted (finally!) 2010 V8V Roadster 6 sp manual with a recently inspected (and original to the car we think) serpentine belt. My mechanic, with 20+ yrs of experience and whom i trust 110%, this past week examined my S belt and stated that it looks in very good shape with no cracks or other signs of deterioration. While the AM maintenance schedule indicates replacement at the 10 year mark, I am planning to wait longer, as I really don't think I want to "fix something that isn't broken". I just received the orig AM belt and the 2 pullies suggested by Chris at Scuderia Parts. (BTW< they are SUPER-easy to deal with!). The Dealer sez it's 2.5 hrs at 315$/hr.......but it's straightforward mechanical work (no resetting of anything electronic).
Other than a slight whine, what symptoms should I be on the lookout for re: the belt starting to fail? TIA as always....!

If you have confirmed 100% that you have both the updated belt and pulley on your car.....whine can come from either belt wear (usual suspect is old style belt and/or pulley), fluid leaking onto belt from one of the many sources at engine front, or improper tension (least likely given the nature of the tensioner). Belt could also be age worn w/o obvious visible wear.

Even if you are the original owner it is possible that a respected Aston dealer or independent shop may have mistakenly installed the wrong belt at some point. I speak from experience on this.

Thank you RF35! My local Tech is concerned that because he doesn't have access to the latest AM software/itty bitty parts that could (conceivably) break, he's reluctant to do the work. I therefore sent him your comment and suggested he watch the RedPants video....!
Thnks again!!
