Hi Everyone New car and the same old exhaust question!!

Hey everybody! I'm new here, although I've been lurking for some time.
I just took delivery of a new 08 s4 avant. I also own a highly midified 997 that used to be my daily driver. 25000 mies in one year is a bit much for the P car, as I really want to use it for pleasure and not the horrible 200 mile commute it regularky endures. Hence the S4. My question is simple: Who makes a good exhaust that works with the quad tips. Labree? Any one else?

It's sad really. I promised mysely not to mod this new car, but the exhaust needs a little more oomph..... and mabey it could be lowered..... Hmmm a full back exhaust sounds nice... oh! a re flash? That sounds

Oh well, it begins

This is a great forum, and I look forward to posting again soon.

I had two S4's and an RS4 and all were fitted with Milltek exhaust because the Milltek has a dyno proven performance advantage as well as a sound that is to die for. My R8 has the first US production Milltek exhaust and it, like my S4's and RS4, has a sound that is not matched by other exhaust manufacturers which is masculine, sophisticated and pure V-8 musical muscle. The Milltek for your S4 Avante is composed of two seperate components. First is the full catback exhaust which replaces everything from the head pipes back. This is available as resonated or non-resonated. My recommendation is resonated so you can listen to music and have a conversation in the cabin (with the windows UP). Second is the down pipes with race cats which makes as much power as the exhaust. Call Pete, Bob or Greg at Stratmosphere (585) 742-9310 and tell them Tennessee John sent you. You will find all three very knowledgable and accomodating to your questions and needs. Have the Milltek installed on your S4 and you won't look back!

I have the non-resonated Milltek system and like it but I agree with offroad911 that resonated is best. The non-resonated has a very slight drone at 1900 rpm which can be annoying.

Why in the world is your engine at 1900 RPM's. This is a low torque, high HP engine. Peak power does not come until 7000 RPM's. This engine is happy revving. 1900 RPM's is almost bogging this engine. I try to cruise, city or highway, between 2500 and 3000.
