New Audi S4 Spied in Northern Sweden

Audi is testing the new S4 based on its new A4 shape, as evidenced by our pictures taken in cold northern Sweden. The four double tailpipes are typically latter-day Audi S, compared to the RS models whose signature huff pipes are oval and only add up to two.

Grille is different from the standard car with its off-colour surrounded by chrome. And what is that extra hole to the bottom left of the front grille?

Word on power is the trusted revvy 4.2-litre V8 FSI of 354 bhp/ 264kW. We sincerely hope it isn’t, that it hikes power up to over 390 bhp. This would make more sense since the next RS 4 will probably hit the 500 bhp mark. Audi S4 will be offered in sedan and Avant for 2009.

Torbo's? I just read it was going to be a V6 with a twin screw supercharger. The above add says 4.2 V8. Ok what will power the car anybody know for sure?

Yeah, I'd really like to know what the powerplant is going to be as well. I've heard like 3 different things now. 4.2 V8, 4.2 V8 + S/C, 3.0TT. I guess it's still up in the air.

Most recent thing I've heard was that it'd be supercharged. But what the hell, I'm still crossing my fingers for another bi-turbo setup

I had also been fairly convinced of supercharger, however here it shows the left fog grille is open (intercooler) but the right isn't which is strange. Does that discount twin turbo?
that woould leave intercooled supercharger or single turbo. who knows?

I've heard so many stories of the stock turbos blowing in the old model, when people tried to turn up the boost. I hope they are better this time.

I thought it was 100% confirmed it was a 3.0L Twin Turbo.

From this article:
"We have confirmed with inside sources that the B8 S4 will debut with a brand new 3.0-liter TFSI bi-turbo producing 330-hp."
