The S5, in my opinion is one of the BEST looking cars on the road today. The interior is PURE SEX too - now i just have to go drive one and see if its up to snuff in that area. If so, and the deal is right, that might be the one for me...

I will say this - the moddability of the M3 seems better no??? I DEF plan on modding whatver car i get so that is an important issue to me.

(cool thread)
jon...the s5 is going to give you better gains on mods...m3 is still over 100 hp/ltr...once you get to that territory, gains are very small, if any. the s5 on the other hand isnt so highly tuned, so it will respond better to mods.
s5 is def a head turner...i couldnt keep my eyes off it and im not an audi fanboy by any means.
with all the power cars are putting out these days, you cant use it all on the street-diminishing returns for hp.
i say be different...get the s5, its stunning inside and out and sound-wise...prob will hold its value better too!

i agree, that car is going to be a monster.

not long ago i looked back on ALL the mods i bought for my e46 m3...over 31K in parts alone! i was like damn i need to get cars that are more responsive to mods...my 335 with just a chip has gained more hp than my m3 ever did with all those mods.

I hear ya Greg...i am 100% with you on this. But here are some different factors that i must consider:

- Always wanted to own an M3...kinda like crossing it off my list you know? hahaha
- New BMW dealership right down the street from my office - Audi dealer is 30 mins away
- Since its a new dealer, they want my cars for inventory so the deal might be sweet!

Also, on a backroad i feel like the M3 would be more fun to whip around in...

However, with some nice wheels the S5 would be a STUNNER for sure...

Rough life eh?

I still have the S2000. It's a different kind of fun than the 911. C2S really feels more like a GT than sports car. 500 lbs is a lot of extra weight!

My initial plan was to keep the S2000 for track days/auto-x but I may end up selling the S2000 as I don't drive it much now.

More gains? Heh, as far as I can tell, not much you can do other than a turbo / supercharger.

Downpipes didn't yield any noticeable gains by AWE...neither did chipping. So exhaust + cld air intake? Maybe 25hp tops...nothing else.

Maybe a pulley kit in the future? But nothing available or planned as far as I know.

But yea, car looks pimp, and is a head-turner anywhere.

idk...havnt gotten around to it yet...but it will be shortly, once i get my coilovers and wheels and aero lip on, dont worry.

...i think the s5 offers a great package, the m3 has impressed me after seeing it in person, but still will never have the edgy-ness (if you can call it that) that the e46 m3 had, but still good if you can take it for what it is...
knowing you, i think you should check out the c63 amg and is-f.
im still not sure giving up your TWO cars is worth going to one, but its your choice and youre my boy, so ill support you either way.

No rush...just keepin you on your toes

And yea, i hear ya...the two for one is a tough call, but i only drive one car at a time...and ever since i got the Cayenne the S2K just sits around collectiong dust. Plus, i only have one garage spot

We shall see....i know you wont be upset to see a new white M3 on BBS LM-R's, slammed with AMUSE exhaust and other goodies pull up to your crib!

thing that gets me with the m3, they are going to take a HUGE hit. when i ordered the 335, i nearly ordered a new m3 that same day, but values are horrific. i couldnt stomach the car losing ~32K over a 24 month (even though i dont keep cars longer than 12 months or so) period based on what kind of residuals they are showing on leases-but hey they want to sell >100K of them, and M stands for marketing more than anything these day right?

And there are other picks out there for me too (you DEF know this) but the kicker has to be the deals i get on my trade ins....that is what is making the M3 look so good now - because this brand new dealer islooking for pre-owned inventory and might overpay for my S2K and Cayenne. We shall see.....

If not, ill continue to peddle the S2K on my own and then go from there
