RS4 owners...Has anyone removed the factory resonators?

Thought about removing the factory resonator and having straight pipes welded in their place. Wanted to see how it sounds prior to purchasing a complete cat-back. Anyone tried this yet?

I did it, it was raspy so I ended up replacing it with a magnaflow cat-back.

Not the best quality sound, but you will get the idea.

From the factory... Many of us are insanely jealous.

Removing the resonators sounds like crap. Invest in a quality system, and I assure you, you will not be upset.

I suggest the Milltek non-resonated catback with valves for the ultimate in big sound you can tame with the button. We also have black tip options now as well.

Those look nice, black would go good with the Ti pkg. Just curious, why do the valves cost $1000 more???

Milltek makes a great product as well.

Buying an exhaust for the RS4 was a tough choice, but I ultimately picked the magnaflow for sound (loud but exotic sounding, so not to be annoying) and the design of the system, the true x-pipe design. And the super cheap price certainly helped.

My second pick was GMG, it sounds fantastic and I like the super aggressive tips. If I could have the ultimate exhaust it would magnaflow with GMG tips.

Milltek is awesome because of all the options/variations they have. But imo it sounded the most "tinny" of all the exhausts. Don't get me wrong it still sounds fantastic, the engine just makes a fantastic noise.

Oh! Oh! Oh! Go with GMG!

I love my GMG exhaust. Loud under acceleration / deceleration, yet quiet on the freeway. Really the perfect system for a daily driver. The sound is more refined than the Milltek. GMG can also have it thermal coated black, which would look awesome with your color of exterior paint.

Get it!

I agree. After all of the research I have done, I'm going to go with the GMG with black tips.

Nice choice! You'll love it, exhaust really completes the RS4 experience for me.
