R8 Alcantra or Leather?

Im thinking about taking a run at 1 of these and notice that some have leather sats and some have the Alcantra type seats. I have never driven a GT3 for that matter any car with Alcantra seats.

What are your thoughts between the leather and the Alcantra.

Thanks,

Ice

Alcantara is the base trim for the R8. Also alcantara is only on the seat middles. Not on the door panel, dash or anywhere else. There are 2 leather packages available for the R8.

The alcantara headliner is really nice but I agree that it doesn't wear well on the seats or steering wheels for that matter.

Steering wheels especially, seats are fine, but alcantara steering wheels and sweaty hands dont look good.
I dont think the R8's' comes with an alcantara steering wheel though.

I'll second that. The alcantara seat bottoms in my S6 wore out very quickly, and got dirty quickly. No way I knew of to clean them, unlike leather.

The headliner and door panels were very nice, though.

Do you have any pics of the worn out alcantara? I'm curious what happens to it. Cleaning/maintenance seems easy enough, this is from the actual Alcantara website:
