Anyone tried the Audi Driving Experience (or others)?

I'm sure all of these events you guys mention are fun, but are they worth the money they're charging vs some other events?
The R8 experience you guys are referring to I believe is over $2k, right? Seems like a decent chunk of change; is it worth it compared to a dedicated racing/driving school?
To throw another wrench into things, $2k is a good portion of the way towards a used Ducati Monster (if I could just grow the stones...).

One can think of it this way: to do what you do on these track days to your own car will at a minimum cost you $1200 in tires alone! So if you factor in that, plus the fact you don't have to worry about smashing your car, paying for track time, track being reserved for you, and most importantly - instructor feedback, it is worth it.
I feel it is really worth it if you own the actual car. I was lucky that all the participants in my 2-day course were also RS4 owners (apparently a first according to our instructor). So we were all familiar with the vehicle, no learning curve, and we were flying after hour 2.
If you really want to try competition and open-wheel racing, then a designated racing school is more for you. Jim Russell is there at Infineon as well, they have great operation.

Yes I was fortunate enough to experience both, dry line and wet line. Lotsa fun, it started to rain in the second half of our track session so that was absolutely perfect. I also feel the $$ was well worth it; the overall value is great.
