I agree with you guys, this car really should have been branded as the S5 and then saved the RS badging for something north of 500hp...

it got ~100hp more than the S5, enough to be a RS model imho and with the S-tronic faster than the competition (BMW & MB), even faster than the R8 V8 on a straight line by the way.

Where did you get that spec? Everywhere I've read has the RS5 doing 0-60 in 4.6s whereas a V8 R8 with R-tronic does it in 4.4s -- pretty much what you'd expect despite the 25hp bump, considering the R8 is a good 400 lbs lighter...

I think Audi as with the RS4 and RS6 are getting a little crazy with their pricing. And this car will not be faster than the R8 V8 which weighs quite a bit less. Which puts it around the same as a 6 speed M3, but far behind other cars that cost around the same like the CTS-V and even the XFR.

Both, the R8 V8 R-Tronic and the RS5 S-Tronic, are clocking a 4.6 seconds to 100km/h (62mph), from the Audi (GER) website:

RS5 confirmed for the U.S.!
A message that Audi fanatics in America have been waiting for:
The New York Times reported today that Johan DeNysschen, Audi CEO of NA, confirmed the RS5 for the US in 2012.

car and driver just did a road test of rs5 vs cts-v and m3...they estimated a $90k price for the rs5..by the way, the m3 won with the rs5 coming in third (last). the sticker of the m3 was almost $80k, i had no idea you could get that sticker even close to the 80k mark.
