Audi RS5 - first photos

full of win imho

The next über-model from Audi`s Quattro GmbH division won't officially debut in Geneva for another week, but images from its brochure have already made their way onto the web. The RS5 coupe will no doubt take the performance of Audi's B8 platform to levels beyond the much-loved and departed RS4. The RS5 is expected to get the 7-gear s-tronic dual clutch transmisson as an option and will be powered by the naturally aspirated 4.2 Liter V8 FSI engine with an output of at least 450 BHP.

Holy smokes....this is absolutely stunning. Anybody know what pricing will be? Will it suffer from the same carbon build up as the RS4 or you think audi fixed that?

Looks Great, wished they used a twin turbo version of the 4.2 (like the c5 rs6), or some type of forced induction for the FSI motor.

Looks beautiful. However, I would change out that grill. It reminds me of chicken wire.

One of the best looking coupes around, IMHO. ...and nobody does interiors like Audi.

I think the opposite. Turbos that make 450hp would have lag. Sequential setup are prone to failure. In general, i prefer NA engines.

Wonder if they've managed to make it any lighter. The upgraded seats and lack of sunroof may count for at least 150 lbs...

450hp V8? really??? thats more than the more expensive r8. Does that mean the latter will get the jump too?
anyway it looks good. Will the sports seats be avail in the US? Will a stick be a available? whats the price thought, $70?

The RS6 (580hp) has more power than the more expensive R8 5.2FSI (525hp). I don't think the models have any bearing on each other, and an R8 V8 will still probably faster in all situations than the RS5 because of the weight difference...

...which means the RS5 will still be slower than an M6.

There, I said it. =P

Wow, its like Christmas morning finding this!!

Ok...

1. Will we get it and if so how much?
2. How much does it weigh?
3. Can I get a manual transmission?
4. Will it be susceptible to carbon buildup?

I'm guessing we won't get those really cool seats, but the 'middle' ones look good too. I like the darker material around the gauges; I didn't like the lighter silvery color on the S5 there.

Daytona Grey is my favorite color...excited about that. Anyone else notice the black optic like package on the red one?

Must have one...

Handsome car. Would love to see Audi bring this to the US and price it competitively with the M3. Looks like it will get the glass roof as an option, too, which is one of the nicest features on the S5.
