TTRS - Opinion please?
#2
Well we don't get the TTRS in the US so it doesn't affect any of us, but it's a pretty cool car in my opinion. And there are plenty of mods out there for it.

appreciate the feedback!
took one for a drive last week and was very impressed. it doesn't have the practicality of an m3, c63 or s5 but it sure is a fun car to drive and with a q7 in the garage we don't really need a practical car
sound and acceleration is amazing and i had to keep reminding myself that its a 5cyl car
problem with tt's in australia is that there is a perception that they are a "girly" car and people generally don't look beyond that and unfortunately they put the tts and the ttrs in the same company
i could wait for the rs5 but that would mean paying full sticker price for it vs getting the ttrs now for a discount and looking at the rs5 in a few years when it cools a little.
interesting that the perception of the ttrs in the US is very different to here
btw - apr make a chip for the ttrs which raises kw from 250 to 296kw and torque from 450 to 521nm
thanks

MB SLKs or Porsche Caymans have the same image problem but in the end they are great and fun cars to drive.
probably more fun and crazier than their bigger brothers (SL, 911, R8).
the RS5 should be a great car but it is more like a fast GT and more suited as a daily driver imho.

I'm waiting to see if we are going to get the RS5...
At least not having those RS cars come here makes my 07' RS4 more rare.

Thanks Teutonic_Tamer,
Need a car to replace S3. Will mainly be a work commuting car (approx. 80kms a day return).
Car does not need to be practical as we have a Q7 4.2tdi that takes care of that when the need arises. Just looking for a fun car that I can take out and throw around a little when the urge hits Considering cars like m3 and e63 along with ttrs atm.
Havent heard of Revo. Here is mainly mtm or oettinger and if one wants to look outside the square, apr.
cheers

mtm and oettinger are both good too, but speaking from a UK perspective, both have a very poor dealer network - hence have very little market share.
GIAC are also fairly popular, though I would personally still recommend REVO over GIAC, simply due to REVO having UK R&D facilities, and are considerably more familiar with the FSI lean burn mode and ultra low sulfur unleaded petrol. REVOs aftersales service is just awesome - quite refreshing compared to traditional expectations of less than ideal customer service we seemed to be accustomed to.
So - copy and paste the following into your order form:
- One Audi TTRS
- One REVO stage one
- One Milltek turbo-back un-resonated exhaust!
