APR chip for R8 5.2

No problem. Happy to help :-)
One day I hope to have the questions about the cars on the level of yours ;-)

personally I think I'd wait till a tuner more familiar with generating performance from an NA platform writes a tune. APR has had success freeing up boost on turbo and supercharged Audis to produce hp gains, but their record tuning the naturally aspirated Audis (4.2 S4, RS4, R8) is...less than stellar.
Just a thought.

In my case the APR tune and milltek exhaust really woke the car up. That plus airfilter / airbox mods and it's a different car. I imagine you'll find something similar with the R8.

Thanks. Putting on the GMG exhaust in the next two weeks. Also heard that Stasis actually sends Audi your VIN number when they mod you car. Yes, Stasis picks up your warrantee, but Audi also cancels it from their side. Not too wild about that. So APR, based on performance, cost, and potential for stealth is looking better. Also, no bad marks from this forum. Thanks again for all the comments.

Audi does not cancel your warranty nor can they. They can deny a claim for a problem if it's shown a mod was the cause. Thats when Stasis steps up and takes care of it. Stasis has a lot invested into this partnership and had to put up a chunk of money to cover issues. With the growth Audi is having I'm very sure Stasis wants to be there with them and things will work the way claimed.

At the end of the day, Stasis buys/uses (not sure of agreement) APR software. I would stick to APR.
The guy above with the S6. Aren't you already committed to 93 octane for that motor? I know the min rating is 91 but if it were me I would always do 93. I put 93 only in my /S4

that's because it's a 1.8 or 2.0 with a K03 turbo, and a boost request change adds 30hp and even more torque
on an R8 5.2 an APR 'chip' (flash) will be nearly imperceptible with the exception of exaggerated throttle, an increased rev limiter, an increased top speed (no limit) and a pile of timing thrown at the car that is mostly corrected back.
There will be very few changes to driving dynamics, and their needing to hire a COMPETITOR to tune their RS4 SC kit is a great example of this. They brought JHM's tuner in to 'fix' their crap tune.
APR RS4 SC with the APR file ran 12.6-12.7 @ 109-110
APR RS4 SC with the JHM file ran 11.8-12.0 @ 115-116
Only thing changed was software. I spoke with JHM's tuner and he made OVER 50 CHANGES to the tune. APR admitted JHM's involvement in their press release after than ran 11.8, but almost as quickly, tried to redact the statement and deny JHM's involvement. Epic fail by APR on integrity as well as tuning.
I think that says a lot about APR's tuning. If there's not a good baseline tune where they can just add boost, they struggle to make power on any car. When they had to build that RS4 SC tune, the car was barely faster than stock (despite a $20,000 kit pricetag)

I took my friend's 2011 S6 to flash APR, car was never function properly.
Very unsmooth ride when power band kicks in. We took it back for reflash 5 times & lift the spark (suggest by APR), cannot fix the issue.
Now car back to stock program , waiting for refund. ( Still waiting ).

I'd be willing to bet it was barely a change at all. Again, just throttle trickery.
I actually posted in an APR thread once that APR tunes for NA cars are just throttle response, timing and limiter removals, and someone from APR said 'well, what else is there???'
I nearly died. JHM's tuner makes well over 100 changes to the ECU when he tunes an S4/RS4/S5 with a 4.2 (MPI or FSI) V8. To hear an APR employee admit that they change only 4 things for $600 was staggering.

sakimano : To be honest, ever since the flash was install, he didn't drive it much, cause it drive like ****. It feels like turbo kicks in around 3-4 rpm.
I am not saying APR is **** on other vehicle, just on the S6 it is.
For my own R8V10, I am not willing to try APR, that's all.

Are you talking about an S6 or an Rs6? Last time I checked the S6 was a NAV10 and the RS6 was a TTV10.
As an APR dealer I need my fingers and toes to count how many NAV10's we have flashed with APR's software and not single car has had any issues at all. Every client is out enjoying their car right now every day from S6's to R8's with and with out exhausts, they are all driving flawlessly and the install of the software was just as easy right through the OBDII with zero issues.
We offer 30 day no hassel money back guarantees in writing on your invoice on all APR Software upgrades. Simply put everyone else in the industry is several steps behind APR in the Vag tuning world. Second to none! I'm not just a dealer but I'm also a client since 2006. R32 APR NA software with over 40k miles on it, 2.0TFSI Stage 2+ MK5 GTI with 50k miles driven, and now a MK6 2010 GTI 2.0TSI Stage 3 kit and K04 with a combined 20k miles, not a single issue and all daily and track driven.

It is S6. Don't really care what other drive fine or not. Just this one is No Good. Maybe you can inquire APR, I am sure they should aware of this situation, Since it was bought back for 5 times to flash back & forth. It was purchase through ( Shift Auto ) in Vancouver Canada.
