TTRS = the killer power wise (in this segment) and with a tune will CRUSH anything from the two other cars here, all the way up to a 997 C4s. Maybe give a stock 996 turbo a scare.

Boxster Spyder = best driving car of the three by far, provided it never snows where you live. Or rains...the top is annoying at best.

The Porsche would just be special as all hell when it's dry out. The Lotus would be great if this was a track day special only...but I think it would get annoying for anything more than that. The Audi would be hands down the best 'semi daily driver'.

Thumbs up

Audi TTRS. I have had mine now for 10 days and it's the best of all - I owned 911s , drove Caymens, owned and just sold my Lotus Elsie W/katana supercharger. The TTRS is w/out doubt, in my estimation going to smoke everything out there and I can't wait for track days. I ordered the sport exhaust and Titanium pckg IT sounds Amazing w/ great growl and looks aggressive as hell. Buy if u can get one.....

I own both the TTRS and Boxster Spyder and my vote goes to the TTRS. The Spyder is the better drivers car but the TTRS is close but much better cruiser therefore TTRS wins.

If you track GT3RS. If you want a hardcore convertible spyder for sure.

Forgot to mention the Spyder has quite a bit expressway noise due to the top.

I have a boxster spyder turbo. Let me tell u this is one of the best driving cars I have ever been in. Everytime u get in it u will have a huge smile on your face knowing what the upcoming drive will b like. F'en awesome. But if u get one, cf sport seats are a must but with that said, getting in and out of this car is not a comfortable transition. As far as track days go look into the local tracks rules because around Chicago these tracks and organizations will not allow u to go on the track without the top on or have a rollbar installed. There r rumors that I may b able to verify that over 130mph the top will rip off. So keep this in mind if u plan on tracking this car.

I also just purchased a tts and love this car so I can imagine what the rs would b like to drive on a daily basis. It can't compete with the looks of the spyder and in 2013 there will be a revamp year for the tt. But who cares the ttrs is f'en bad ***.

gasspasser, How do you justify a Cayman R over the TT RS?

Virtually the same Nurburgring times (8:09 v. 8:10) but with much better handling than the TT-RS and no turbo lag. That's the objective part.

As to the subjective, you'll have to form your own opinion. Mine is that the Porsche is the better car.

gaspasser, I'm a Porsche guy. I have a new GT3 and a Boxster Spyder. When I speced a Cayman R, it was about $85,000. I'm probably going to order a TT RS on Monday. Loaded, before any discount, it came in at about $65,000. That's a significant difference.

As a "Porsche guy" I would expect you to realize that you don't buy a Porsche because it is the cheapest car in it's class. A used GT-R will crush all the vehicles mentioned in this thread in every performance category and still be cheaper but I wouldn't want one, would you? Buy the Audi because you love Audi. Nothing wrong with that!

Have you considered a 1M? Would be my pick. If not, then I vote Spyder.
