Just wanted to share some pictures from our recent outing with the GMG R8 Twin Turbo LeMans 780 at Willow Springs this past weekend. We ran the car hard all day and it performed flawlessly without issue, proving the GMG LeMans Twin Turbo conversion as a reliable and proven performance package. As many of you know GMG has been synonymous with Porsche performance, but Audi has always been a brand that has been near and dear to us, so we revel that we had the opportunity to build this kit for the R8, and we're quite proud of the outcome.

This particular customer approached GMG for a car that he could take to the track and run hard without any excuses; he didn't want a dyno queen and he wasn't really interested in showing off at the local Starbucks. He wanted something that could withstand the stress of a road racing environment and that would go the distance with reliability. This car was GMG's solution to a trackable R8, with plenty of daily driving comforts left in tact. However, after this weeks test the owner of the car has decided to take the next step and turn the car into a full blown caged race car that will compete in various series throughout the country. Although we had a great time building this car as a street / track hybrid, it's safe to say we like where he's going with this.

Further development will be made in the following areas:

• Safety- full cage, seats, harnesses
• Aerodynamics with carbon body work and a wider body
• Brakes
• Gearbox
• Suspension with adjustable components and developed dampers
• Many of the R8 LMS parts will be adapted to this car and many new products will be developed that can be used on road cars

All the components developed on the car will be refined and available for road cars which will include the R8 V8- V10 and GT models. We are very excited to further develop the R8 platform, so stay tuned as the build continues over the winter and spring and look for new R8 products from GMG.
