'06 A3 VR6 w/ Bilstein PSS10, Brembo Brakes, Custom 3" quad-tip exhaust & interior
This '06 A3 came in with the desire to be different and that is what we did.
Parts Installed
Bilstein PSS10 Coilovers
Brembo Brakes
Custom 3" Cat-back Quad-tip Exhaust
Forge Intake
Full Oettinger Body Kit
This A3 started off wanting to get a bit closer to the ground so a set of Bilstein PSS10 coil-overs. This way we not only gain the adjustable ride height but also keep a great ride.
While in the shop it was also time to upgrade the front brakes as well so a set of Brembo Brakes were installed on the A3
After these upgrades the car was sent out to the body shop to have a full Oettinger body kit added and the car resprayed the factory color. After the new rear bumper was in place the customer not only wanted an exhaust but a custom 3" cat-back system that had dual quad tips.....and that's exactly what we built him.
Stock system on the car.
Stock exhaust system/tips with his aftermarket bumper.
All great things start as material and an idea, in this case it started as some pipe sections, tips and a muffler.
After all the system after the cats were removed and the adapter was added to go from stock pipe to the new system.
The pipes being cut and mocked into place
After removing it from the car all the pipes were tack welded into place
After setting it back into place it was time to get the muffler and tips figured out....first tip mocked up
To make the Quad-tips function the inner tips were cut open and the outer tip was welded into place to allow exhaust to flow from both tips
The other side had the same performed as well then the tips were added to the pipes and the last section of the system was tack welded to hold it's position. After that the whole system was removed and welded completely.
Everything was then re-installed on the car
The final product and as you can see the tips also had to clear the battery box on the right.
While it was in the shop a Forge intake was also added in to help get the air in since it was able to flow out so much better now.
After all the go fast was added it was time to address an aging interior that had seen better days. After replacing a few door arm rests and other nick-knacks the headliner, visors and all pillars were covered in Alcantara Fabic to finish off the elegant look inside.
In the end this car will turn many heads for years to come.
